Review summary

Just got off the ship this morning and we had a great time. It is an older ship, so you will see some wear and tear in spots. I'm hoping that RC will spruce it up if they plan to keep it. I can't say enough about the great crew! Susan, the cruise director, is quite the entertainer--and her lovely Scottish accent is adorable. Moe, the hotel director, is a hoot! Our stateroom attendant was constantly cleaning. The restaurant staff treated us like royalty. There's almost always something going on--trivia games, scavenger hunts, game shows, etc. If you go in with a fun attitude, you'll have a good time. If you are a picky person, this is not the cruise for you.

Cabins and bathrooms are smaller than you're probably used to. Remember, it's a ship, not a hotel. Use this as an excuse to get out and explore.

Ship tip

Make sure you bring any items you'll need onboard. There are a few sundries (very limited) available in the duty free store that sells tobacco and alcohol. But their hours of operation are limited to while you are at sea. So make sure you have plenty of toiletries and OTC meds.

Drink LOTS of water! A guy passed out on our boat coming back from the island. Don't let yourself get dehydrated!

Nassau, Bahamas

Stores don't open until 9:00 or 9:30. If you're going to shop, there's no need to get out too early. People will bombard you as soon as you get to the gate. Politely walk past if you can. The Hard Rock Cafe has free wifi (unfortunately, it was down the day we were there). Stick to the tourist areas. If something or someone seems sketchy, stay away.

It's a great ship. It just needs a splash of paint here and there. The size is great if you're going for the fun of actually cruising and not for all the bells and whistles of the mega ships. I'm sorry to hear she's going.

Please Royal. Change your plan!

2018 Majesty leaves the RCL family. She'll join her sister the Monarch. It's a shame. Cause the Majesty gives the allure of cruises in days gone by. I along with my family will miss her!

That is a death sentence. Did you see what they did with Empress?

Majesty will only be around 1 more year before being transferred to pulmantur in Spain.

Her Majesty is a fine lady. So was the Monarch. I would hate to see the Monarch now after Pulmantur has had it 8 years. I hope they retain the Majesty. She is a throwback to when cruising was really a special vacation. Before the cut backs and mega ships.
