Review summary

I can't give this cruise a very good review. We travel with extended family and this year we had 10 people. We all agreed next year we will be back on a Carnival cruise! The food was fair, really nothing special at all. The beds were not comfortable and the pillows were like pancakes! We had a group of 300, 15 year old Brazilian girls on our cruise. All of the music, the whole cruise was in Spanish and so were most of the TV channels. There is a big screen TV out above the pool deck which played a movie at night. The rest of the time it had advertising for Royal Carribean. Seemed like a waste to us. The hallways by the staterooms smelled like poop! It seems the ship has plumbing problems, we heard people complaining at guest services also. The crew was nice, but they aren't really fun. They don't seem like they enjoy their jobs. We also had a medical problem and were told the doctor wouldn't even look at our son unless we paid $140 for a consultation. We couldn't believe it! I must say, we never had a medical problem before on Carnival, so I don't know if this is the norm. To us it seemed a little crazy. This was our 6th cruise, 5 on Carnival. The 7th will be with Carnival!

We left one of the shows because it was not very good. Comedian was funny and they had a juggler who was amazing. The music was in Spanish. I took a Line Dancing class, thinking it would be country music. Nope, it was Spanish line dancing.

Room and bathroom were fine, but the bed and pillows needed to be replaced! Bed was not comfortable and the pillows were pancakes!

On Majesty now. I would give it a 3 out of 5. Food isn't as good as I thought it would be. Tried "speciality dining" and that was the worst service ever! Room service acts annoyed when you call. Bartenders are hit or miss. Some seemed annoyed or bothered when you ask for a drink. Paid for the ultimate drink pkg and was told some drinks are not included. Seems as if we were oversold/underserved.

I was on the same cruise as 5 cruisers and did not experience the same issue. Our steward was great not sure what floor you were on but can't say we had the same issues. We did see the 300 hundred Spanish girls they didn't bother us, as a matter of fact they kept to themselves.

The larger ships are reserved for the longer cruises. Also comments on this post regarding the Majesty are not related to her. Read carefully as several are related to Carnival Triump plumbing issues not Majesty.

Majesty is a great cruise. Going back on in 10 days for the 2nd time this year. We had 5 cabins in May no problems no odors food was great entertainment pool party dancing 80s party in the centrum karaoke the quest game show hilarious I could go on and on. Yes ship is older but she is still a great ship. Take it from someone who really does go on cruises great cruise for a quick getaway.

Medical isn't free on Carnival, but without knowing the nature or time of the issue can't compare cost. Doctors are expensive to have on staff and they can't give away their time for free.

We had the same issue with the smell. The triumph definitely has a plumbing issue and I predict we will all be seeing in on the news. We cruised the 4th of July and when we went to guest services their were 5 people ahead of us complaining about the smell. So it is a known issue on the ship..

We just got the ship this morning....excellent food and beds were good. I needs extra pillows and the staff provided more pillows. The staff was exceptional... We were able to watch movies and sporting events on the big screen by the pool....Sorry you were unhappy. I think you should definitely give RC another try.....Cruising one port at a time!!!!
