Great Itiniary but...

Sail Date: May 30, 2015

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The best part of this cruise was its Itiniary. The ports of call were excellent and we enjoyed almost all of out shore excursions (one in each port). Do not do The Best of Prince Edwards Island - too many shopping stops and it did not stop at the red cliffs - only saw them from a distance. Avoid the Hop On Hop Off bus - not enough time to do more than one or two stops on only one route. The ship was beautiful and elegant. The staff was friendly but service was just OK. Dinner took forever and we were the last ones out of the dining room every night. We have had better Steward's on other ships. The entertainment was fair - too many nights of the ship's singers and dancers and not enough outside entertainers. There were fewer activities compared to our other cruises and they did not have any game shows - not even the Love and Marriage Show or the Quest. The food was just OK - we did not go to any specialty restaurants. The weather was on the cild side - Fall may be a better tine to go for both weather and the Fall foilage.

Ship Quality
beautiful and elegant
Food and Dining
Service and Staff
frindly but below average - slow waiters - poor steward
too many nights of ship's singers and dancers - costumes were great though
Onboard Activities
not enough activities and no game shows
Destinations and Excursions
destinations were the best part of the cruise - most excursions were very good
Montreal, Quebec
we arrived a day and a half early and spent a full day in Old Montreal. No time to tour on embarkation day.
Cruise St. Lawrence River
we were expecting to see more scenery on the shoreline
Quebec City, Quebec
went to Montmercy Falls and Isle of Orleans (sp) - great excursion
Cruise Gulf Of St. Lawrence
very smooth sailing
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Best of Prince Edwars Island tour was only fair - too much time for shopping and did not get close enough to the red cliffs
Sydney, Nova Scotia
The Lewisburg (sp) Fort was very interesting - too bad it was cold and raining
Halifax, Nova Scotia
The Citadel was very interesting - you should take a taxi instead of the Hop On Hop Off bus
Bar Harbor, Maine
We had done Acadia Park and Cadillac Mt in the past (very good) so we did the Lighthouse tour by sea - very interesting but the weather was cold on the upper deck. The lower deck was heated but crowded.
Boston, Massachusetts
we disembarked and went to the airport. lasttime we were there saw the USS Constitution which was a very good tour.

If you are a late riser be aware that breakfast ends at 10 AM!
