A great time on the Maasdam

Sail Date: May 14, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

The people on the ship were very nice to us. There were a lot of things to do and we never got bored.

Pros: The entertainment onboard the ship was terrific. The Maasdam performers were top notch. The lead female singer was amazing.

Cons: The DJ Matt was too corny. He would say he was going to tell a bad joke, then he would tell it. Come on. Don't make excuses for poor material. Get better stuff.

Recommends Maasdam? Yes!

Ship Quality
They are getting ready for a complete makeover in about 10 months so some of the ship looks like it needs it.
Food and Dining
Cabin / Stateroom
The rooms were clean but the bathroom looks very old. The hair dryer became too hot to hold after a very short time. The cabin stewards were very good. Always had a smile and kept the rooms very clean.
Service and Staff
Entertainment
Highest rating possible. The Maasdam dancers were perfect and the 4 singers were amazing(especially the lead female Barrie Linberg). Some of the guest performers were really good, especially Jeri Segar and Julie Barr.
Halifax, Nova Scotia
Love the city. Don't miss it.
Gaspe, Quebec
Nothing to see. Another waste of a day.
Quebec City, Quebec
GORGEOUS. SEE IT ALL.
Don't Miss: FRONTENAC HOTEL AND OLD TOWN
Sydney, Nova Scotia
No reason for the ship to go there. It was a waste of time. Another day in Quebec or Montreal would have been a better idea.
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Lovely little island.
Don't Miss: Anne of Green Gables house.
Bar Harbor, Maine
Newport, Rhode Island
Charleston, South Carolina
Ville Saguenay, Quebec
Stay on the ship and make it a spa day.
Sept Iles, Quebec
Same thing. Nothing there.
