First Cruise by faucirodger

Overall great experience, the food was good, and the all you can drink package was well worth the money. Grand Cayman Islands were nice, wasn't a fan of Falmouth or Cozumel. Next Cruise Rep on ship wasn't the best, he seemed irritated and annoyed by our lack of decision making for our next cruise.

Wonderful Family Vacation by kirstenallman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second RC cruise and it was even more amazing this time around then the first. This ship seemed larger and had so much for the kids to do. (We have 3 girls ages 11,13,18). They enjoyed the water slides, ice-skating, ice cream by the pool and movie nights. Although the ship was fully booked (spring break), it never felt overcrowded and we always found loungers to lay out in. Dinner was amazing and the port stops were wonderful. I recommend RC and the Liberty of the Seas without hesitation.

Liberty of the Seas Cruise by Cruiser10490443

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really appreciated the cleanliness of the ship!  The staff were amazing...especially in the Rembrandt dining area.  Loved the musicians throughout the ship, the games, the dancing and especially the shows!  Whatever you do, make time to enjoy the shows.  Also, we found that watching Channel 14 in the mornings to watch the Cruise Director was very helpful.  He was an absolute hoot and gave some great information that we wouldn't have known about otherwise!!!

Overall Review by lcruz0959

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was good however it focused on up selling. There was an exaggerated  focus on selling diamonds and watches. There was a constant pitch of selling the premium restaurants and spa services as oppose to informing me of all the features I was entitled to receive. I was hoping to relax and enjoy however I found myself in a market, dodging sales people, very annoying. On the othere hand, the shows on board were excellent, Broadway quality,

I will recommend this cruise to people that are interested in a shopping experience as oppose to a vacation.

Hard Bed, Average Food, Disinterested Service by doneil8540

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Favorite part of cruise was snorkle shore excursion to private island in Belize.  Beautiful island and very nice tour operators. The tender process needs improvement as it took about 45 minutes to 1 hour to get loaded and back and forth.  Food on ship was a little disappointing.  We had balcony room in back of ship.  View was awesome, but soot from smokestack kept the patio furniture dirty.  Room attendant tried to keep up with it but wasn't always successful. Biggest complaint was very hard bed.  We had a worn mattress on top of a corregated steel frame and it felt like we were laying on metal.  Every day we tried to get it resolved and were told that Health Dept. banned the foam for health reasons and they were removing all foam, except whenever I asked any other passengers they all seemed to still have foam on their very comfortable beds.  Tried to get some kind of credit for lousy bed and all they offered was $100.  Very disappointed and stiff from bed.Sad  Also, refrigerator didn't work and had to be replaced and sink stopper had to be repaired.  The entertainment was mostly very good, except broadway show Saturday Night Fever was rude and not appropriate for children.  We booked late and were assigned 8:00 seating.   Too late for us and we tried to change time but ship was full and we could not.  So they had us show up every night at 6:00 and they fit us in when someone else didn't show up which meant we had different waiters every night and they mostly didn't seem too interested in giving us good service with exception of a couple of them.

It's been awhile since we cruised, but it seemed they were constantly after you to spend, spend, spend: drink packages, dining packages, spa packages, art auction, watch and jewelry sales, shore excursions, next cruise sales, etc.

The best choice for a Cruise departing from Galveston, Texas by EugenioGarcia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great Entertainment.

Nice Port of Calls.

Roatan is a beatifull island and beaches

In Belize it should be better choices for shore Excursions to the Keys....

Cozumel is the best of the 3 port of calls, Nice, clean, friendly people and very nice beach facilities choices.

Great time, but beware! by jrjr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Had a great time on the boat. A couple of noteworthy items for future cruisers. (1) RCCL sales people did not make clear that duty free on cigarettes and liquor does not apply to state of Texas import fees. $15 for a carton of cigarettes, only $3.50 or so for liter of liquor. (2) Jewelry store reps said our particular purchase was duty free because it was made in US. The docs didn't reflect that though so we could have had to pay duty. (3) If you purchase over some $ amount on-board (no idea what, but apparently not huge) you are marked as a "big spender" (my term, not theirs) and RCCL is required to report to Customs and escort you to a Customs desk. Great way to cut in line and you get special attention!

It was fun by crushina

The places were beautiful, and I really enjoyed the good food. Room service was awesome, and everyone on the ship was really nice. I wish they didn't try to push selling stuff so much in port and on the ship.

Great cruise on Liberty of Seas! by dizyjnn4234

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I did a different itinerary this year but stayed on the same ship as in 2016.  I like this ship and prefer Royal Caribbean over the other choice we have in Galveston.  My party booked a Resort for a Day in Jamaica and this turned out to be one of our favorite choices.  In Grand Cayman, I enjoyed the Turtle Farm, Stringray City and especially liked snorkeling at the Coral Gardens.  Did not have as much time in Cozumel due to a medical detour we had to make on the way to Cozumel.  But it was exciting to see the Coast Guard Helicopter approach the ship.  Overall was great weather and experience!

Awesome by cavegirl455

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship Liberty of the Seas was great. Our stateroom was big and clean, as our attendant was amazing. The pool bartender, Sasa was nothing short of exceptional!! The main dining area was beautiful and the food and service were both exquisite. My only issues were that there are sooo many things on the ship that cost extra, after spending so much on the cruise in the first place, you don't want to have to spend extra on a burger at Johnny Rockets.  The Windjammer served all the same food, not much variety. Also, we checked in to future cruise credit and the lady was very uninterested and no help at all so we left. BUT .... we had a blast and would recommend this ship!

Old Soldier reviews by OldSoldier

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Buffet food was great, great variety and plenty of it.  Stateroom attendant was a super guy.  Most servers were polite and immediately on hand, except for one.  Entire ship was clean, sanitary and roomy.  Library could use more books, had the same ones from the last 2 trips. Only one feature needs fixing,  That is the  bedding, the mattress was tired, they tried to extend the life span by placing an egg crate on it.  Didn't help the wife's back.  And the pillows need to be replaced.  When they are only 1 inch thick they are finished.  Tried to fluff them up but they stayed flat as a pancake.  The attendant brought us 4 more but only 2 were of any use.  All and all a great value.   I personally will stay with this ship line.  Already planning next year's trip.  Oh, almost forgot, if you have a problem with standing for long periods, like waiting in line to get on board or to get off, ask for a wheel chair.  The folks are most cooperative.

Love RC - But cruising days are over by bennis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We love RC and have been on many voyages over the years. The ship is beautiful; service was great; food up to current standards. There was quite a mixture of guests - especially nice to see the many families on boa  group of 300+ men on board who took over the entire Solarium area, as well as, other areas on the ship, we were unable to be in the adult pool sections. It was quite uncomfortable and disconcerting to the other guests on board. Again, we love cruising, especially on RC, but due to changes in society, we do not feel comfortable any longer.

Disappointed by ebrown243

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was very disappointed in the fact that my family and I couldn't use the pool area that was for the adults.  There were what looked like 200 over weight, middle aged men there that took up the whole area.  The worst part was that a quite a few of them were wearing speedo trunks or in just their under shorts.  It was not a very hospitable area for families.  To use a hot tub we ended up in the young family area.

Cruising the Caribbean on the Liberty of the Seas by CaptnRick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Had a great time on my third RC cruise.  The Ship was great, lots to do, and the staff was awesome.  We had good weather, got lucky in the casino, enjoyed the sun and music by the pool, watched Flowrider participants, slid down the huge water slide and had great food and drinks.  We did not try the Flowrider, or the rock wall, miniature golf or get to the all the specialty restaurants.  Did visit most the bars, did some shopping on the Royal Promenade, participated in shore excursions, listened to some fun music in the a couple nightclubs and met some new friends.  Cruising is great fun - will look forward to the next one.

Scuba Cruise by bdiddy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise and my newly wedded wife's second.  It was our honeymoon cruise and our main activity off boat was scuba diving.  We thoroughly enjoyed the ship.  The crew was amazing and the ship was clean and well maintained.  The only negative was one of two nights in the main dining room where we had a waiter who was clearly having a bad day.  He got upset because my wife ordered something other then the beef dish that he recommended and it went down hill from there.  The other other issue was an early morning pre excursion room service order that didn't arrive in time for us to eat it.  Generally it seems to me that you'd have to really try hard to not have a great time aboard this ship.  You would have to be going out of your way and looking for trouble.  The food was great and the drinks even better.  We ate at Sabor two times, Chops once and did the mystery dinner theater which was with Giovannis and all of the food was great.  We dove in Roatan and Cozumel.  If you plan on renting any gear be sure to check it out at the dock before the boat leaves.  We had one diver in Roatan who didn't do this and his BCD didn't work.  Roatan was great visibility and great diving but Cozumel was even better.  We saw a 5' shark, eel, sea turtle and a large ray all on our first dive.  Visibility was unlimited and the water was a warm 78.  Overall the cruise was over the top great and we can't wait to go again.

Mostly Good by KOM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The staff was First Class. Can't say that much for the other passengers. Too many folks and many of them rude, loud and classless.

Entertainment was great. Food and food services were excellent for the most part.

Room was clean and well attended.

The boarding on 2/12 was a painful experience. The fog problem in the early morning preventing an earlier docking was understandable, however we stood in line for 1 1/2 hours outside in the hot sun without knowing what was going on.

If someone would have explained and served cold water or drinks to the people in line it would have made for a less painful experience. Upon disembarking I was appalled that the State of Texas wanted taxes on liquor purchase DUTY FREE on the ship on in an foreign port. Pissed me off big time because I was getting on a plane as soon as possible and leave there State without drinking an ounce. Ruined my day over this unexpected money grabbing scam.

There is no pool to SWIM in. Geared for kiddies and people who want to stand in the water drinking rum drinks.

Kept Getting Better by Cruiser37290341

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The hallways to our room did not have nautical art, but room was nicely laid out and clean, steward did a good job.  Then we toured the ship and were most impressed with public areas - especially the Promenade - nice casual restaurants open late and shops.  Food at the many restaurants we sampled was good, Windjammer buffet crowded but good food.  Michalangelo Dining Room is breathtaking with its enormous crystal chandelier and other appointments.  Food and service were outstanding.  The 3800 passengers were a bit of a challenge at times.  Performances by Texas Tenors and the ice skaters were our two favorites.  All in all, a nice cruise with our 50 traveling companions from Sun City.  Tim & Connie Timko

Trend seems to be to families by Cruiser83999569

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very good to have a quiet pool area for ADULTS ONLY!. Enjoyed this and also the Olive or Twist in the daytime - a quiet place to talk or read or just relax.

Didn't realize there would be so many children aboard, so many INFANTS! The ship features and amenities are good to keep them busy and away from adults who don't care to spend their vacation hearing screams, crying, running, etc.

Recommend an area set aside dining rooms strictly for adults, no children. Would be nice.

Wonderful shows, a cut above what we have seen before.

The food was so-so; not special.

WONDERFUL TIME by FLOWRIDERPRO

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO SUPPLY THE SAUNA AREA WITH HAIR DRYERS AND DISPOSABLE BRUSHES, AND SAMPLES OF  THE  UP STAIRS SPA PRODUCTS, I FOUND THIS WAS VERY GOOD IN A  SPA I VISITED IN CALIFORNIA, WENT IMMEDIATELY AND BOUGHT THEIR PRODUCTS, THE SPA ON THE SHIP PRODUCTS WERE VERY GOOD. THINK YOU COULD EXPAND YOUR SALES IF YOU DID THIS.

1st Cruise by Cruiser71028063

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our first cruise was excellent! More than I was hoping for! Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas is a beautiful ship. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful; was never in need of anything and if we were all we had to do is ask. The shows were unbelievable! the cast members were so talented! Met some great people and had lots of fun! Looking forward to our next cruise with Royal Caribbean.
