For a quick getaway, Liberty of the Seas is a great option. A bit disappointed in the quality of the food on this ship... COVID/Supply Chain no longer an excuse as I have been on a sister Royal ship in 2022 as well as competitor cruise in both 2022+2023 and the food on this trip was just not enjoyable. Lack of variety and overall.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
First time out of Port Everglades...arrived an hour earlier than embarkation time and boarded the ship in minutes. Nice process and very easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
As my third Royal cruise, all on sister ships to Liberty (freedom and independence of the seas), I was let down on food quality this trip. Have dined at Chops Grille and Giovanni's prior and was always satisfied. Steak quality was a let down from previous trips (2022 most recent) and Giovanni's was not as elegant as prior...more like an Olive Garden casual quality. MDR breakfast was not anything as years past...dinner lacked basic flavor components (exception was the French onion soup... excellent 👌).
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Water Slides always a blast as was the rock climbing wall.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Ice show was spectacular as always...missed the one night comedy offering.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Always hard working with a smile and poise. Always appreciative of what they do with less staff.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Showing it's age... definitely not as "tech/modern" friendly as the newer ships. Not bad, just could use a refresh (rusty bathroom fixtures, cleaning the AC vents, wallpaper peeling, balcony/window curtains broken).
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Aft corner balcony...showing age but great views.
Ship tip
Great getaway ship...do not expect many dining options as of new ships as well as many entertainment options. But good cruise to the Bahamas.
