Review summary

I was impressed with Royal's efforts to return to cruising. I love cruising, having been on over 20 cruises over a few different lines. Super fun trip.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Efficient and well organized-be sure to all your documents in order using the Royal Caribbean App.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet was excellent. Main dining room is on par with a nice restaurant. Food was presented well and nicely seasoned. The vegan menu was a nice addition effectively adding a whole new avaiable menu every evening.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Always something to do on a Royal boat.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The singers and dancers were very talented. The bands and musicians brought variety to the various venues aboard.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff and crew were excellent and cheerfully interacted with us. It's so much more than just a "hotel".

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship, common areas were clean and welcoming. My only comment is with the foot traffic of a few thousand people walking about the carpets take a beating.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin dwas clean and cony. There were three of us in an ocean view balcony cabin which gave us plenty of room. I mistakenly thought the sofa was a sofa bed, but no. My son who is a full grown man had a bunk that pulled down from the ceiling that was a bit small and according to him mildly uncomfortable. Our cabin steward brought in extra bedding in an attempt to soften things up a bit.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

We arrived in Galveston with just enough time to get to the ship, plus it was super hot that day, so we were motivated to get on board.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Love Mexico. Lots to do in Cozumel and the people there are warm and welcoming.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
Went on a snorkeling adventure here. Literally minutes from the ship which was nice. Great diving, nice clear warm water. Only 4 stars because I wanted more time in this port. Due to tendering in from the ship, this limited our time here. I felt very rushed.

Falmouth, Jamaica

1 out of 5
We weren't quick enough to sign up for an excursion through the ship and just caught a tour bus ride to the Blue Water Beach Club, along with about every body from the ship, it seemed. Super crowded, scarce beach chairs, expensive food and drinks. On the plus side, there was a great DJ spinning out some tunes and helpful 'beach boys" to help get you some chairs. I will not do an itinerary that includes Falmouth, Jamaica in the future.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We just carried our bags off and one of us jumped on the free shuttle bus to the nearby parking lot. I drove over, collected everyone in our part and off went.
