Review summary

Pretty nice cruise. Great for families and old people. Not the best choice for newlyweds or those seeking more of a cultural experience.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We purchased the 7 night specialty food package and quickly became tired of the limited choices. DO NOT RECOMMEND. There are not enough restaurants. Chef's table is wonderful! 5 stars. Sabor Mexican: not good at all. I give it a 1. Cooks yelling at each other in the kitchen and waiter was very confused with the orders. Food was eeh. Decor looks like an afterthought. It took two hours and they were not busy. Johnny Rockets had BIG issues. Not sure if it was staffing or the grill went out. Another 2 hour experience. Hamburger was good. Milkshakes too sweet and not melted. Chops: Staff is very nice. Menu is quite limited. You can get escargot, crème Brule, and French onion soup in main dining room so why go here? Chops doesn't have these. Need to add a cheese tray (Buffet has nice cheeses on some nights.) Chocolate cake is good. Breads could be more artisan. Quality of meat is ok not fantastic but acceptable. Lobster nights on Friday in dining rooms (so we passed on specialty restaurant one night.) Our lobster was overcooked to a paste! Giovannis pasta is heavy and awful (tried two kinds). Do like their cheese & meat tray, although cheeses could be more interesting. Staff and atmosphere is great. restrooms are all outside eating areas. They need one more restaurant that is a bit more elevated than what is offered. How about a French one? Also need larger red wine goblets for a more upscale feel.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pool, tidal wave, surf thing. lounge, restaurants, games, trivia at bars, shows.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Musicians in lounge are way out of tune. They did some good things but overall need to work on pitch. Plan music ahead. A lot time on stage wasted with trying to decide what to play. Saturday Night Fever was very good and surpassed expectations. Comedian is ok, not that funny. the opening act was great.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Minus one for flustered hostess at Chops on first night and because not everyone knew the rules on the 7 day dining experiences. The customer has to think too much with this plan. Needs to be more clear before you purchase.

Ship Quality

Great job.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great balcony. everything very clean. steward was awesome. Room felt spacious. would prefer shampoo separate from body wash.

Ship tip

You really don't get a feel for the destinations. Go for the boat ride not to learn about the culture. I wish they would have seminars the night before each stop. buy the water package.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Getting on the boat was easy and it was well organized.

Cozumel, Mexico

vendors are very aggressive. Big turn off. Look to Jamaica to see how to do it right.

George Town, Grand Cayman

snorkeling was fun but again you don't get to see much or learn about reefs or anything.

Falmouth, Jamaica

Beach break is ok but they really pack them in.

Disembarkation
