There were too many kids running up and down the hallways at all hours of the night. I was on deck 10 and apparently this was a big issue during my cruise. But parents were nowhere to be seen. Other adult cruisers were complaining about the same thing. I chose Royal Caribbean because I have been on 4 other Carnival cruises and wanted something with less kids. I basically paid more for the same Carnival experience. I wish I had known ahead of time about all the kids.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Very chaotic, reservation of time slot was not honored. VIP/Suites did not have their own line.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Purchased the unlimited dining pass, the Mexican food restaurant Sabor was garbage, it needs to be replaced with something worth while. Buffet selection was just okay. There was virtually no food available after midnight, pizza stops at 3AM. If you are a night owl like myself, you will not have food options.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The fitness center was very nice, the adult pools were very good; I liked that no kids were allowed.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The shows were not great.
Children's Programs
I did not travel with children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff and service were excellent, they were very attentive.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Overall the ship was in great shape, but the carpets in all the common areas are old and faded, they need refurbishing.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
I paid for a junior suite, and it looked dated, but still comfortable. Comparing this suite to other suites on Carnival, this one was not as luxurious.
Ship tip
There were TOO MANY KIDS running wild all over the ship. Do not go during their "KIDS SAIL FREE" promotion if you do not want to cruise with kids. They were rude, loud and obnoxious. The parents were nowhere to be seen.
Cozumel was great, we went on a snorkel excursion and it was fun. The ship was scheduled to leave very early so our snorkel and beach party excursion was cut short.
Not the first time in Jamaica, but first time in Falmouth. We did the "5 star" Iberostar luxury beach resort excursion...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The food was awful and the bar service was so slow that "all you can drink" was only 4 drinks in 4 hours. Should have gone with a local cab to take me to a better place for much less money as some other people on the boat did. The Iberostar is absolutely not worth it.
Same thing on EOS last month. A 1:00 curfew for teens is too late in my opinion. Also ages under 18 should not be allowed in adult hot tubs. Just my opinion.
My husband learned after our first cruise to not go when school is closed. Kids with no supervision, filling up the elevators to play so people who truly needed them couldn’t use them. Never again.
Appreciate your feedback. I would imagine there would be as many children on RCCL as Carnival with all the activities (climbing wall, wave rider, etc.). Sorry you were disappointed.
