Review summary

It was a very good time but it was not at the quality that I expected from Royal Caribbean. It was more along the lines of Carnival, which we had sailed, but at a great price. I don't feel we got our money's worth on the ship.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
So much easier than before. In almost no time we arrived at our designated time and was onboard in a matter of minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was really good. The dining room was excellent. The only drawback was the time between the servings. We had the 8:00 time and there were times it was almost a 2 hour meal. It was soooo long between the appetizer and entre servings. Our waiters were awesome.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We are "older" so we didn't do the strenuous activities but they looked like a lot of fun. It had two tube slides and a flo rider. Looked like fun, if you're younger. We spent a lot of time around the top deck of the pool, but we turn our chair around to see the water. The complaint I have was that there was a band playing for only 2 days for a short time.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The entertainment was not of the quality we had experienced with Royal Caribbean before. The first comedian was really bad. The ice show and the main show as good. The entertainment in the bars were not very good. There just didn't seem to be as much energy on the ship as before. I know it was probably due to the pandemic but you would think it would be just the opposite. The big screen on deck was not working so no midnight movies. the turned the sports bar into a "theater". That was bad due to not having a place to watch the NCAA Tournament games.

Children's Programs

No children went with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
EVERYONE was great and very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was great just like you would expect a Royal Caribbean ship to be.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were upgraded to a balcony room. It was plenty big enough and there was ample storage. It was very clean. Our steward did a great job. Only thing was, it may just be a big deal to me, was that we only had towel animals 3 of the 7 days. That may sound trivial but that is something that people remember.

Ship tip

Do everything you can possibly do. Go everywhere and try new things. You can rest when you get home.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
We left from Galveston. Parking was easy and the shuttle buses were quick.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We had been to Cozumel a few times, every time we cruised no matter where we went, so we just walked around the port and shopped. Very relaxing.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
No excursion planned, just walked round the port and shop some. It was very small from the boat. We didn't think we were going to be there for very long. Boy were we wrong. it was mush bigger than we thought. It had a pool and sandy area with chairs to use. A great show by local Mayans. We stayed all day and had a good time.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
This was the place we sailed for. For one thing the dock was very short, so that was a pleasant surprise. We came to pet the sloths. We used Bodden Tours: Mayan Jungle Canopy Zipline | Victor's Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary. It was awesome!!! One of, if not the best, excursions we have ever done. We held sloths, monkeys, Macaw's, other birds. It was great. the we went to West Bay Beach for the day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was even faster than getting on.
