Review summary

First and Last Cruise with Royal Caribbean. My advise to you, do not travel with unvaccinated kids!!!! Don't be fooled by the rating. I would've given a 0 if I could. 2.1 is incorrect. Rating number is off because the ratings of the port of calls made it higher. All in all, I was fraudulently booked on this cruise. Had I known the condition of camp, I would've never booked it. You're experience may be different depending on when you cruise and who you traveled with but Royal Caribbean needs to be more transparent about their policies. They should've never booked people if they do not have the manpower to handle the capacity. All they want is your money. They don't care about your experience and in the end, they lost a lot of customers.

Embarkation

Horrible. We were told we cannot arrive sooner than our scheduled time. But we do have kids under 12 that needs to be tested. Got there at 1PM, didn't start check-in process until 2:10; tested at 2:30; got our results around 3:50PM after running around and chasing BioReference people down. Got on board right around 4. Late to check-in our kids at camp, missed mandatory muster station check up. Must I say more?

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food were awful. First time I ever lose weight on a cruise. By the 3rd breakfast, all I wanted was congee (rice soup). It's the only thing they can't screw up.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
What activities? The only thing I was really able to do was shit on the deck by the pool. I had my 5 and 6 year olds, and they were tied to my hips. Adventure camp? What camp?

Entertainment

1 out of 5
I've seen better (for the ones I was able to attend). Most people couldn't get to the shows, that is if you're traveling with unvaccinated kids. Shows supposedly are full but on 3rd deck, seats were empty on both sides. I guess the only people who are important and treated like real customers are people that are vaccinated.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
The worst! Capacity for 3-5 yr olds: 15, 6-8 yr olds; 30, 9-11 yr olds: 15.....when the ship has around 500 kids under 12. Go figure!!!!!! Your max allowed time is only 3 hours a day. If you're lucky. Some were only able to put their kids in camp 2x for the entire trip. You have to register and pre-book 1 day at a time. Might as well tell people that camp are closed. What a shit show.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Old, ugly, and nothing works. Our rooms had some type of leak so were upgraded to a promenade rooms, which I didn't care about. Phone barely worked. Intercom didn't work correctly. When there's any announcements, we have to open the door just to hear it.

Cabin / Stateroom

Small

Ship tip

DO NOT SAIL with kids. 80% of the activities onboard are for vaccinated passengers. SAVE YOUR MONEY! You won't be able to do anything, especially when camps are not opened. If I had known, I would not have taken this cruise. This is my first and last cruise with Royal Caribbean.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Galveston is Galveston.

Belize City, Belize

I love Belize. Goff's Caye is beautiful. 3rd time here.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
Roatan is okay. Water is decent, not great.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Maya Mia was great! The kids finally have fun. Took excursion with Royal Caribbean (because we were traveling with kids). We were only allowed 4 hours total (including transportation time). We weren't allowed anywhere just but Playa Mia and then back to port again.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The only thing that was good about this cruise. It was fairly smooth or maybe it was because I couldn't wait to get off the ship.

Unlike you, we had a fantastic time on Liberty, Oct 31, 2021 sailing. Service was spectacular and the entire staff went out of their way to please us. Of course, we did not have any kids with us. Sorry you did not enjoy the cruise.

Sorry to hear about your experience.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. If you had done a bit more research you would have seen that the kids activities were very limited, especially for those unvaxxed.

Now is not the time to cruise with unvaccinated children on any cruise line. Most cruise lines don’t have any of their playrooms open at all.

Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations.

Thanks for the review. We’ve always had a great experience with Royal Caribbean. There are a lot of better options for vacations with children than cruises currently due to the Covid restrictions / requirements.
