Review summary

Overall our experience was fun and enjoyable. There was one thing that I would be critical of. The casino is placed on deck 4 in the middle of the ship. People are allowed to smoke in the casino and that smoke permeates to all the areas around the casino. As a non-smoker, this is annoying. I don’t remember this being an issue on our last cruise with Celebrity. If they are going to allow people to smoke in the casino, it needs to be enclosed so the smoke is contained to that room. Other than that, the experience was very enjoyable.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at the main dining every evening and once for breakfast. Each time we received exceptional food and service. We ate at the Windjammer for breakfast a few times. The food was good. Finding a seat was challenging but we did find something each time. We did not eat at any of the specialty restaurants on this cruise. When we ate in the Michaelangelo dining room, we sat at table 433. Our waiters were Sivakumar and Vivek. They were amazing!! They anticipated our needs and wants and accommodated our special requests for our food. Vivek surprised me with an Arnold Palmer, and made sure I had one at every dinner time!! I can’t say enough good things about these two young men!! Also I want to praise Shan from China who worked in Guest Services. One evening both me and my husband left our sea pass in our room. She was so nice and friendly while making us a spare one. The next day, I couldn’t find my sea pass at all. Shan remembered me, and assured me that making a replacement card was not something to be upset about. She was so nice to me and made me feel better!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We mainly just enjoyed sitting on the upper decks and walking around the ship. We used the hot tub a couple of times and that was relaxing. We also had fun at karaoke night. We enjoyed a trivia game as well.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We attended the ice show and two of the main stage productions. They all were professional and fun to watch.

Children's Programs

We didn’t have any children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the waiters and service staff were outstanding. I felt like they genuinely cared about us and our needs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We were impressed with the promenade. It was really active. Everything was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was more than adequate for us. The bed was comfortable. The room was well attended by the staff.

Ship tip

If you get disoriented, simply find a map. There’s always one nearby.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
We spent an extra day in Galveston before the cruise. We enjoyed exploring but didn’t really do much else.

Cozumel, Mexico

We took the Tulum Mayan ruins excursion. We were impressed how well preserved they were. Our tour guide Miguel was outstanding and very accommodating. We had to take a 45 minute ferry to the mainland. It was pretty rough and I’m glad I took some motion-sickness medicine ahead of time.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Our excursion consisted of riding in a semi-submarine to view under water, going to a turtle farm, sampling rum cake, and going to a place called Hell. It was all fun.

Falmouth, Jamaica

We took a tour called Go Native Jamaica. We visited the old St. James Church, visited an elementary school, and partook in an authentic Jamaican meal. If you was get out into rural Jamaica and see how the native Jamaicans live, this is the tour for you. We really enjoyed all the sights, sounds, and tastes.

Disembarkation

We had purchased what is called The Key program, so we were providing a parting breakfast and then left the ship from there. It was very efficient.
