Overall a most enjoyable cruise, however compared to others we felt a bit "nickel and dimed" with all of the extra charges - we expected to pay for alcoholic beverages but there should be more places to get all other drinks and snacks throughout the ship. And there should be at least one place to go to update messages and emails for free with limited access. For the price per person this is not an unreasonable expectation.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was great, easy to follow instructions, well organized, flowed well, waiting room nice and comfortable.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was great and the staff and service were first class. Disappointed in the chocolate buffet compared to other cruise lines, this one was a huge disappointment.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fitness center and jogging track excellent, jogging track somewhat negatively affected by cruise members pulling chase lounges out into the track area and not being good neighbors to other cruisers.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
All of the shows we attended were first class. The only negative comment is that these are not fully explained prior to departure, especially the theme night/s not described fully before departure. Info on the web sit too general.
Children's Programs
No children on the cruse with us this trip.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone especially our room Steward (Howard) and the waiters (Roger & Fari) in the main dinning room were excellent, above and beyond expetations. We also had great service in the Windjammer by many different people.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
All great - flow worked very good and rooms very nicely designed. Very clean, some wear starting to show on the stair carpet and a bit of rust outside but very little, nothing to worry about.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Great layout, easy to move around, balcony excellent. Only negative comment was the thermostat did not seem to actually control the room temperature, we were careful not to leave the balcony or room door open but the room was constantly too cold even with the temperature set at max heat.
Ship tip
Tour the entire ship on departure day and become familiar with the layout of all decks, Use the electronic maps near the elevators each day for updated info.
New to cruising? I have been on 25 cruises and although I get a set amount of free internet on PCL due to my status, you will find no cruise lines handing out free internet . Promanade cafe has food and drinks 24/7 in middle of ship with easy access. Your comments sound like a new cruiser. On my first cruise, I was a little let down from expectations, but I quickly learned. You wo t be spoon fed info, you have to read daily paper on what's going on so you know where to go and what it is about.
