Review summary

It was a nice relaxing week. Even with some of the lower ratings, I would do it again. Next time, I will bring something like Hershey's Kisses to give to staff who seem unhappy or unappreciated. Sometimes a little appreciation can go a long way. We really appreciated Carmen who sold us a few watches. She was very nice and helpful.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Slow and hot. Not what I expected having bought "The Key"

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was good but not high quality. The popular items in the Windjammer, such as seafood, were always gone quickly and refreshed slowly, so we ate mostly chicken and some fish. Seafood salads even were very picked through.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Wine-tasting. I enjoyed it. It was well planned and he was well versed, but he wasn't having fun.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
They did a great job.

Children's Programs

No kids with me

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
I didn't see the exceptional service others raved about. The negative 'vibe' from some staff was so strong, it was a little scary. I even had an experience at a bar in the Casino where I was intentionally passed over many times. Another cruiser noticed and let me go when the bartender asked him what he wanted. It was really belittling. I found the problem mostly with the male staff.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
A little outdated but clean and well kept.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very nice cabin.

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

2 out of 5
Compared to Mahogany Bay, it was terrible. It was just a port, not a destination.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
This port was much nicer than Coxen Hole. We went into town and walked along the boardwalk, which wasn't as nice as the port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The Key breakfast was nice and the disembarkation was pretty good. It was a long maze to leave, but it moved quickly.
