All was good except the main dining area chairs need upgraded. I dont know how to fix the gratuity thing except just up your price & be done with it. everything has to be paid for atleast 30 days before you sail so the hidden gratuity deal is not a fun thing to find out after you think its all paid for. UHM INN ADVANCE!

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
the main dining area chairs where old and wore out hard as a rock to sit thru dinner. the buffet area was great for a quick bite & to get the day started.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
all was nice but the pools on the liberty our backwards. the adult pool area is small & no music while the kids side was music all the events happened at that area. The waitresses where not good if your going to wait on people in a pool area maybe you should where water shoes to get to the person you are waiting/serving. Try and know their names (kinda important i think. since you do spend alot of time there.

Ship tip
i like to tip the people that our serving me!! the unforeseen gratuity thing at 18% on everything is ridiculous. so many people wheere floored when they went to check out & find out there was an extra $$$ charged to their room. BJ Travel did not tell me about this & BJ Travel gave us very bad directions on one of our excursions from the port. If your selling me an excursion I think they know where the royal Caribbean cruise line ports at
nicely laid out, fun shops easy to get around. THE AMAZING RACE EXCURSION WAS THE BOMB. they where so good at everything from start to finish!! would do it again for sure they where so organized at the whole thing!

Maybe your issue isn’t with the ship and Royal Caribbean itself, maybe you should toss your blame at your travel agent instead of RC. The gratuities are laid out in black and white when booking the cruise (I did it all myself); tells how much per day and that an 18% would be added on various things purchased. I took the option of pre-paying gratuities for the daily tip. Also, if you research cruises at all you’ll find that this is not a hidden cost. Keep in mind that most of the workers aren’t paid that great and count on tips to survive; like servers in restaurants in the US. Your plight with the gratuities isn’t with RC, it’s your travel agent. Maybe time to find a new one.
