Review summary

The Royal Caribbean ship Liberty of the Seas was nicer than the carnival ships I have sailed on but the food was worse. They can't even make a decent hamburger. It tasted like some sort of cereal based patty with hamburger flavoring. The food in the main dining room was third rate and I wish I had not eaten in there but rather the buffet instead. All in all, I would not Sail on Royal Caribbean again but at the same time I thought it was a decent value for what I spent and I had a pretty good time. It was just some of the food choices being very disappointing in the main dining room mainly. They ran out of lobsters on Lobster night and the lamb they served on the final night was literally unedible because the sauce was old or not prepared right. I think it was just really, really old.

I agree that hamburgers on RC are terrible. Guy’s burgers (free) are incredible on Carnival! They are (IMHO) better than the burgers you have to pay for at Johnny Rockets on RC. I’m pretty disappointed if the cover charge at Johnny Rockets is $11 now. That’s ridiculous.

We attempted to go to Johny Rockets for the shakes. I was under the impression with the deluxe alcohol package shakes were free. Wrong you have to pay the cover charge. We were told by a waiter the cover charge was $11 and it included all you could eat and drink as far as soda was concerned. The Deluxe drink package gave us free shakes with the $11 fee. Very deceptive I spoke directly with an RC agent when we purchased the package shakes were free. Obviously they didn’t know what they were taking about.

Johnny Rockets is where you go for a hamburger. 6 dollar cover charge for whatever you want besides shakes.

WOW. We love that ship. We do prefer the buffet for all three meals. But only eat in the dining room on lobster & prime rib night. We have NEVER been disappointed!! We went on a Carnival ship last year and the food was absolutely horrible!!! No matter where we ate it was terrible My husband lost 7 lbs!! Only Guys burger were pretty good. But I can’t eat that every day??
