This cruise exceeded our expectations. I think we had the wrong impression of a cruise leaving out of Galveston - that somehow it would be "less than" because it was leaving out of Galveston and not Florida. Simply not the case. Liberty of the Seas was one of the best cruises we have been on. We normally travel Celebrity (Aqua Class). We enjoyed the cruise so much that we actually booked another cruise for next year on Liberty. An awesome vacation

Food and Dining

We were no impressed with the main dining room and opted to upgrade to a 4-meal specialty dining. It was worth the extra cost (to us). Giovanni's Table had was excellent, Karim was one of the best waitor's we've ever had at any restaurant. Their desserts are worth having first! LOL The Chops is also a great restaurant (ask for Margaret). Windjammer was the buffet and there was always plenty of sitting, the waitstaff was friendly and kept the area clean. I wish Royal Caribbean would add a sandwich station - the lunch selections were a bit heavy for my taste. The pizza place was bleh at best - very bland, but good if you want to eat quickly and are not picky about eating cheap pizza.
Onboard Activities

Lots for all ages to do! The trivia games are fun, Lifeguards remain vigilant and the areas surrounding the pool are kept clean. The miniature golf course is fun.

Ship tip
Ask for Karim at Giovanni's Table, Margaret at The Chops (upgrade dining). You can get the purses on-line cheaper - don't let the fact that they are "on sale' fool you. Bring your own shampoo - the brand they provide is awful!
We did a scuba dive with Sun Divers. They picked us up at the port and returned us on time. Great excursion. This company is VERY safety oriented, their diving boats are in great shape, the fish/corral in Honduras is amazing!
If I could give this a zero, I would. STAY ON THE SHIP. Their beaches are not good - go to the beaches in Cozumel or Honduras. There is nothing on this island to see. We rented a golf cart - that was fine - but there was nothing to see. If you are goign to buy Mexican Vanilla at this port, price it all first. Bargain hard - the vanilla prices are all over the place.
This port has alot of activities for everyone. We took a Jeep Excursion and had a blast. We visited the "Blow Holes" and did some snorkling. The island is an interesting place. The same cheap Mexican goods are available here, but the island just gives off a better "vibe" than Costa Maya. Miami Beach bar is a not-to-miss place. Even if you don't drink, it's located in a beautiful spot.
