This was such a disappointing cruise. We normally take Carnival but wanted to give this a try. The only thing nicer about this cruise was the cabin. The staff are not friendly , lack of entertainment and shops, the food isn't as good and they will cancel a port and not re route to make sure you hit all ports. I asked for a water at one of the bars and the guy told me to go to the self serve station. There wasn't anyone else in line at the time and it was just rude. I spoke to MANY people on the ship who shared our sentiments! I will never cruise with RC again.

The ship was delayed 5 hours and the check in process was a nightmare! It was like herding cattle. We finally get on board the ship and wait another 2 hours for room to be ready.

There were not enough activities for a ship with 4000 people on it. They only allowed 50 people to ice skate at a time and the mini golf was often too busy to play. There are only so many times you can go to the art auction or play bingo at $40 a pop

The shows were decent. The acrobat show was good and ice skating show was worth watching. They rarely did karaoke and it lasted 1 hour and only allowed person to sing once. My husband was very disappointed and the lady who ran it was very rude.

They needed more shops but it was a clean ship and nice design. I loved our balcony room and spent TONS of time there since there wasn't anything else to do. The only negative in the room was the rock hard bed.

Ship tip
My one tip would be to schedule a cruise on Carnival, Princess , Celebrity or any other ship! Many of the staff were rude and acted like they didn't want to be there. I have been on at least 9 cruises and this was by far the least enjoyable!
They cancelled this port because of wind???? I had friends on the Carnival Breeze who left out the same day and the ship routed it where they could make all ports. They compensated us a whopping $34 HA!!!
That's true if you happy go lucky and friendly and fun person the crew loves that. When I was on one of my cruise a waiter and other staff comment to me we enjoy you you always sining and dancing when you come to dinner we enjoy you. I thought that was so sweet. I am sorry that you had such a terrible time. I guess that if I had to wait to board and had a port canceled, I might be disappointed as well. When we were on this cruise, it went very smoothly, the staff, cabin and other passengers were top notch. We spent just a few minutes boarding, found the bed to be fine and the food was quite good. We went during a calmer time of the year, without wind problems. I don’t envy a captain who has to make a judgment call on passenger safety; perhaps he had your best interests in his mind when deciding to skip a port. This is hardly the first time I have seen someone who prefers Carnival disliking Royal Caribbean. My guess that you are better off with a line that fits you. I was surprised to see you suggesting Celebrity (my favorite) as it is like a refined version of RC. Best of luck with future cruises. I think you may not like Celebrity, stay with Carnival.
We were on that ship for a 14 night Transatlantic and our experience was completely the opposite of yours! We introduced ourselves to our cabin steward and our waiters and bartenders and by the time we got to our first port of call we already knew several staffers on a first name basis and we were getting amazing service anywhere we went on the ship. Sorry your experience on Liberty was so miserable.
I think giving attitude to the crew may have something to do with it. If you didnt sound friendly...then dont expect kindness in return. Imagine taking care of thousands of strangers every week. Can't be an easy job. Also, there is so much to do. Read the Cruise Compass each night for all the activities for the next day.
It really is a shame you feel this way. We were on that ship the Sunday after Thanksgiving and found just the opposite of you. We thought the crew was very friendly. But I say you only get what you put off yourself.
