We would go on this ship again in the future but would like to try other ships that have more onboard activities when at sea.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the ship was late arriving at Galveston and we couldn't get on the ship until 4pm and we couldn't get into our room until 6:30pm. There were numerous unhappy people and it just made the situation stressful. I thought RC handled it the best they could, but it was a disappointing and frustrating way to start our vacation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The Windjammer buffet food was great, good variety and the food was tasty. Some foods were a tad salty for our taste, may be because we don't typically salt our food. The breakfast omelets were fantastic! Buffet crazy busy with long lines, and finding a seat was next to impossible most mornings. The food in the dining rooms was great as well, although potatoes and carrots were always the sides with the changing entrees. Dinner menu changed daily, dessert menu stayed the same with 1 or 2 changes nightly. Service in the dining room was stellar. Our waiters were genuinely friendly and just all around great people who truly cared about our dining experience. The mixed drinks were excellent, very strong- pina coladas delicious! Wine was excellent.
Onboard Activities

Because of weather conditions, we were at sea more days than anticipated. We did get bored on the ship. We have a 12 year old son that did have fun on the flow rider and one of the water slides. They have 2 other water slides that are so slow you have to push yourself along. The main pool was very small and we never got in it. You could not find a pool chair to save your life unless you got to the pool early and sat there all day. The kiddie pool area looked fun for those 5 and under. It was bigger than the main pool! The rock climbing wall was ok. It looked fun but my son said that it was super hard despite that he climbs rock walls all the time here at home in local venues. So he only attempted one time. The basketball court was always taken by 20 somethings trying to fulfill their egos. As far as ship activities, there really wasn't much going on that we could do as a family. Most of it was adult themed, such as something at the casino, or an activity involving alcohol. We did play bingo one day at $30pp. The majority of the activities were not free, which was disappointing. We wanted to do some of the trivia games, which were free, but they were always in a bar.
Entertainment

We saw every show except for the last night due to the PG13 rating, and good thing since we found out it was more like an R rated show. The only show we really enjoyed was the ice show, it was excellent! The skaters are extremely talented and know how to entertain- do not miss this show! We did not enjoy any of the other shows. Sadly, most of them very pretty risque despite them being labeled as family friendly. Porn was mentioned on 2 occasions in the impersonator show- not very funny when you are with your 12 year old son AND your elderly parents. It was not labeled as an adult show. The acrobat show was not very good either, it's a husband and wife singing and doing some tricks. It's a pretty sensual, suggestive show with images at the beginning of the woman acrobat in lingerie and nude covering herself with her hands- REALLY???? I had to cover my son's eyes. Once again, this show was labeled as family friendly. We would always sit near the exit so we could leave if we had to which is pretty sad and disappointing. We never went to the late night adult themed shows so I cannot comment on those.
Service and Staff

Dining room waiters were excellent!!!! Our stateroom attendant was excellent!!! All of the staff onboard were friendly and kind.
Ship Quality

The floors in the Promenade were always squeaky clean. Ship bathrooms were clean. I did notice the floors in the Windjammer and in the dining rooms to be dirty often. The stateroom bathrooms are showing their age.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our junior suite was very comfortable., large in size with a huge walk in closet for our clothes and suitcases. Bathroom looking a bit worn. Our attendant always kept our room very clean. Our balcony was huge. Beds were comfortable.
Harmony Of The Seas has the most to do. My favorite Royal Caribbean ship. Been on it 3 times. I’ve been on Oasis 9 times, going on Allure in April for my 6th. time, been on Freedom, Mariner, Liberty, and Adventure. Harmony has the Abyss dry slides, 3 water slides, zip line, rock walls, Escape room, flow riders, miniature golf, basketball, ping pong, great shows and restaurants!! Stay in a Star Class suite and get your own Royal Genie.
I like to be early at the ship to get my money worth and start enjoying the ship, so I know it would be frustruated not to be able to do that. But glad you had a good time!
