Wish I'd been on a different itinerary. Bad ports.

Review summary

Ports of call were really bad! Third world stops with nothing to do. I would prefer to have been to taken to more developed ports. Costa Maya and Roaton were especially bleak and disturbing.

Nothing to see or do here. Very poor. Not worth the stop.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

1 out of 5
Nothing here but tourist traps. Booked excursion to private beach club but beaches here are seaweed and coral. No sand. Poor visibility in the water, no snorkeling. Bad experience.

Cozumel, Mexico

2 out of 5
Beaches are eroded. No sand, all coral. Clear water so snorkeling was okay.

Disembarkation

Need valet parking or better baggage pick up process.

I haven't found a bad port or a terrible experience. We get what we look for. Perhaps cruising isn't for you, unless you just stay on the ship. Roatan is an amazing place! Wonderful people and beauty abounds. Cozumel is a great little place too. That's one of my favorites. Spend some time in town, get to know the people. They will surprise you. Costa Maya has more history than you could ever imagine. All ports have the tourist villages. Venture out into the real world. Or, go back to your luxury and let us common folk enjoy our adventures.

That's one of the reasons this cruise is absolutely one of the cheapest cruises out there. You get what you pay for. It's still an Awsome cruise on an Awsome ship just enjoy.

What the heck! Didn't you know where you were going when you booked the cruise? How about embracing adventure and learning something new. Third world country? Not so, but Okkkk.... You would be surprised to know the people who live on these islands enjoy a better quality of life than many of us do? Note I didn't say 'More luxurious or more privileged' They live where we vacation....Go figure!

I love being privileged enough to go on any cruise...not gonna lie. Not everyone has what we have. I'm sure they'd love to come here and feast on cheeseburgers for a week...not the best food ever, but hey I bet they wouldn't complain.

well you knew the stops when you booked the cruise. why did you pick those ports? and they are not 3rd world countries just not as wealthy as some others.

You needed to do more research. Roatan has some of the most beautiful beaches.
