Review summary

Favorite part was the entertainment.  The only decent meal was served by one of their specialty restaurants (incredible).  A major disappointment was the ports we visited.  You get off the ship and walk into a compound where you are fenced in and forced to shop at ship owned shops (no deals).  The only way to escape the compound was to purchase a high priced excursion.  For the most part the wait help was excellent.  Our first morning, we awoke with back issues.  We worked it out during the day and then it starts all over again the next morning.  Must be the bed.

First few days the water got so hot you could burn yourself. Then the was no hot water. We loved the larger size balcony. The bed was a killer. Could not get Fox News on the TV. The cabin was well maintained and clean.

Ship tip

Plan on buying meals at the specialty restaurants.

We love Galveston but believe the city does not handle the cruise traffic very well at all.

you can walk outside the port fenced in area and explore. The ships are not responsible for outside the fenced area. We leave the fenced area every island we go to. I would just say don't venture off the beaten path, especially in Jamaica. Some of the best places in Cayman are in walking distance.
