Review summary

We boarded the Liberty of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.   Staff and service was excellent.  It was clean.  Tons of things to do from children to teens.   Surfing, ice skating, 3D movies, ping pong, putt putt, board games, arcades.   Adult portion includes:  Spa, adult pool/Jacuzzis, gym, track, bars, shows, and more.  We purchased an excursion on the internet for zip lining in Belize because the Royal Caribbean excursion did not offer one for a child that was nine years old.   We found out that we needed a 'tender'/ticket for a boat ride to Belize.   On day #2 at sea, my husband had to be in line by 8 a.m. (hour prior to tickets being handed out) to make sure that we received one.   We received the tender.  If you take a Royal Caribbean excursion, you do not need to do this.  It was a learning experience.   Zip lining in the jungle in Belize was a lot of fun.   Cozumel excursion was fun.   We did lose an hour due to the excursion before us having a problem, but we enjoyed snorkeling and the afternoon on the beach.  One thing we weren't aware of was a $12 gratuity fee per person/per day that we did not budget.  (It would have been nice to have that in large print since there were four of us.)   Other than that, our room attendant, Leonardo, was fantastic.  Crew/staff were very nice and constantly working.   The Windjammer buffet was fantastic.   The Michelangelo dining room was fair.

Cabin / Stateroom

The room was starting to show a little wear. The next time we go, we are definitely getting a cabin with a balcony. It's a little bit of a tight squeeze for two adults and two children that are ages nine and thirteen. Kids loved the bunk beds.

Ship tip

Make sure you get register for your excursions from your room or guest services as soon as you board. They book fast. Unless you book your own excursion online from other companies other than what Royal Caribbean offers. If you are booking excursions on your own, do this before you sail.

We stayed at Ramada. It was clean, provided transportation to cruise, breakfast, and took us to beach/pickup night before all for free.

Belize City, Belize

The port/city is not built up, but the zip lining in jungle was fun. Also, heard tubing in caves was fun.

Cozumel, Mexico

Beautiful port. What you expect the Caribbean to look like. Snorkeling excursion was fun.
