Review summary
This ship was a major disappointment for us. We have tried most of the major cruise lines and would rank Carnival above this. First of all - the good; the ship was clean and beautifully decorated. That's where it ends. Embarking was a nightmare. We stood in line over an hour even though we are Platinum on RCC. Our room was clean and quiet but the bed was painfully hard. No extra toiletries and the room was not made up until mid afternoon. The food in the Windjammer was ok and the service was good. The food in the MDR was a disappointment compared to other lines. If you wanted a chewable steak it was $25. Extra and lobster was $29.95 in the MDR. They had a Pub Lunch one day and it was not edible. They only served fish & chips in the crowded bar on Main Street. The fish was so strong and the French fries were cold. We left after one bite.
The final straw was the last night. We checked our on board account and saw we were charged $15.85 for mini-bar which we did not use. We stood in line for a long time and had to argue with the CS agent for 15 minutes before he finally took it off our bill. The charge was for Red Bull and most of us "over 65" passengers do not drink the stuff. Give me a break!
The ice show was good and the other shows were OK but so loud it was deafening.
Dis-embarkation was another disorganized mess.
Bottom line - there are a lot of choices out there and this ship will not be on our list.
