The ship was very clean and the crew was outstanding. The dining meals served were very good.

Review summary

Sailing out of San Diego. Getting to San Diego from Los Angeles. There is one train northbound and southbound that fits into the ship schedule. Part of the tracks have been washed out in south Orange County and north San Diego County because of the recent storms. This requires a train ride transfer to a bus and to a train. There is no luggage service on AMTRAK between Los Angeles and San Diego this requires the loading and unloading of luggage at each transfer point.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was slightly larger than the Veranda Cabin. The suite was located above the Veranda Cabin. Holland America advertises Suites. There are two classes of Suites one with privileges and the other without. You have to read the Terms and Conditions to figure out what comes with your Suite.

Ship tip

If you take the train to San Diego the pier is about a half mile from the train station

I love the San Diego port but just curious why you went to all the trouble to get there from LA when you have so many cruises out of your port?? Ship or location perhaps?
