Review summary

It was a pleasant and good experience, albeit some minor issues: the ship did not dock at Corinto, Nicaragua because of some perceived troubles (security issue); however, the ship did not give credit for the port charges (on other cruises, we always received credit if the ship did not dock at a certain port), Oceania only issued credit for passengers who bought excursion tours. What a shame!!!!

Food and Dining

Exceptional culinary experience: Freshest high premium ingredients from meats, seafoods, vegetables. Cuisine is supposed to be in the French tradition, Jacques Pepin being the Chef-in-Chief for all the Oceania ships; however some of the dishes were "North Americanized" with too-much starch. Another anomaly was the amount of salt in most of the dishes: we managed to speak to the Chef who readily complied to our request for low-salt diet. Just be aware of that aberration. Kudos on the melt-in-your-mouth red meats and the abundance of lobsters dishes.

Service and Staff

From the Maitre D', to the Sommelier, the Restaurants Manager, Supervisors, Junior and regular wait staff, the room stewards: Always on the ready to greet you, attentive to all your needs: one of the best service staff in all our years of cruising. One minor issue; the restaurant staff worked almost at a frenzy state- rush, rush, rush (explanation from the staff:some passengers were impatient!!). Please RELAX!!!!!!Non-reservation of table system DID NOT WORK. If we chose to be at a certain time and assigned at a certain table, we did not see the need to be moved almost daily.!!!!!
