Mistake by johnniejones51

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Independence of the Seas

My Wife and I was excited to take our 3 kids 16,15 & 4 on their first cruise. Unfortunately after ending the cruise my kids have no desire to ever go on another one and I can’t argue. It was so far below the expectations from comfort, things to do and general cleanliness that even I have no desire to do it again.

Great cruise for families by lisadjohns0509

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Independence of the Seas

I found independence of the seas to be a great ship for families, especially those with teen kids. The shows were appropriate for all ages, magic, iceskating, dancing, etc. The ship had tons of kids, not necessarily places for romance for couples. Would cruise again with RCCL.

Good Cruise for beginners by Cruiser19251786

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Independence of the Seas

This is a good cruise for any beginners. There were not many food choices that you didn't have to pay extra for. Would have enjoyed being able to get a burger without having to pay for it. You couldn't do anything in Coco Cay without paying extra for it besides the beach. The zip lining was definitely not worth the price as we have done plenty of others for a lot less.

We must go back! by Cruiser20663425

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Independence of the Seas

I booked a Royal Caribbean spring break cruise on a whim one evening and woke up the next morning wondering what on earth I had done. So, I did what everyone does, looked for a social media group where I could get some answers, and stumbled upon Royal Caribbean Moms at Sea. I joined as fast as I could and started reading all the information. Who knew there were so many ships, itineraries, excursions, and restaurants? And mom hacks too?! What even does aft mean? Where does my family eat? I quickly realized I was in over my head and that the ship I had booked in haste the night before was not a great fit for the family. In desperation, I sent @momsatsea an email and was quickly and kindly greeted by Kelly Aleman. She was able to help us find a ship with an amazing list of ports that better suited our family, and even helped my parents and brother find rooms on the same ship with us! How great of a time did we have? Well, we have been home for less than a week and have already booked our next cruise (once again with the expert guidance of Kelly), and we can't wait to surprise our children at Christmas! Hopefully, the crocodile tears pouring from their eyes while leaving the ship will be replaced with happy tears of excitement and joy when they get to find out that we are going back to Royal Caribbean!

First Cruise! by mckenzie0303

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Independence of the Seas

We had such an amazing time on our first cruise. RC really treats you like royalty. Everything we asked for, we received. We dined in the main dining rooms for our meals, and I couldn’t have asked for better service there. Food was good and no standing in lines at the buffet. We are already planning our next one!

Wonderful relaxing cruise by oldhamkelly33

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Independence of the Seas

The double dipping at end of cruise cause great stress . We were in Orlando hotel waiting on flight home and discovered we were negative in bank account. Worrying is how can we get out car out of park n fly parking. How can we feed our kids family on way home. Ship knows that pending charges take away guests available funds then debits balance also end of cruise . Also way ship takes out gratitude it causes triple tipping. We were tipping staff from 20 to 59 tip then see end of cruise invoice we were in panic mode. Other than end of cruise stress. We loved cruise even booked another cruise and paid 400 reserve it but we would not had did that if we known we be negative 25 in bank could double dipping. We booked later and kept 400 get home on. We learnt alot on first cruise. It cost us triple amount it should have . I thought the guy does shopping advice and gives vip from Africa. Was very disrespectful to my daughter in front row 11 yr. He never would throw her gift like necklace or glow in sun ring or anything. She gets all excited raise hand and he choose every one else but her. He seemed looking down on us and didn't look our way. My husband spoke up to him once and said throw her a necklace please and he did only when my hubby was getting upset he ignored her the entire show event .

Beginning of Summer Bahamas Cruise by DeepWaterHappy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Independence of the Seas

We liked this cruise because I work weekends, so the Monday-Friday format suited our schedule perfectly. Comparing cruises is difficult because the service, food, venues - everything is always dependable and professional, so it's always a wonderful experience. There is so much to do on Independence of the Seas that we had to budget our time carefully; with activities each day and shows every night; you do need to use the calendar to keep your plans from overlapping. I have so. much more to share about the wonderful experience we enjoyed; head over to my blog at DeepWaterHappy and I'll take you through how we maxxed out our experiences over this four night cruise.

First cruise and will definitely do it again by kkirkby17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Would definitely do another cruise. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Ship had plenty of room to move around and explore. Stayed in a standard inside room which I was nervous about but it was comfortable without being cramped

The cruise/staff were very accommodating someone in my party was wheelchair bound but they were able to enjoy Coco Cay because of the special wheelchairs they have on the island that can go through the sand.

Enjoyable weekend by joann47376191

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Independence of the Seas

This was my second time on the ship. Last year same time it was half full and I loved it. This time full and it was too many people and not enough staff to serve them. Had to wait in so many lines! Also tons of kids because of spring break and I think they sailed free. They took over some of the adult activities. I still think it is a great value and might do again but not during spring break.

Excellent experience and service. Shreenan, the associate in charge of my room as well as the associates in the restaurant (Sam and Leandro) were the best. Very attentive and kind.

Good times by amberl8686

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

Good times. Disappointed about sky pad being advertised yet closed. As wel as the minimum age for the escape room being 12 is ridiculous
