Review summary
overall, this was the typical freedom class ship not too big not too small. Royal promenade is a plus for me on every ship. I really like the lay out. Not too sure if I like playmakers being so close to the casino but I’m sure Royal Caribbean has itsreasons.Embarkation

Fish & Ships
Great little spot to get fried fish and fries. Not very crowded on port days, the best time to go. I do wish they would give you more fish on a serving. They used to give you one small piece of fish and french fries. I guess it’s not a big deal because you can go back as much as you want. And chips are complementary. Very tasty always hot and fresh fries were very good as well.
Main Dining Room
Went to main dining for one night. Main dining is not my favorite place to eat on any cruise ship. I don’t like all the people. I don’t like sitting so close to all the people. It’s just chaos everywhere. But the food was good. the waiters were excellent. I don’t know how they can feed that many people in one sitting every night of every cruise. but for me, I would rather not go to Main dining. I’m an introvert at heart and it’s just too many people.
Izumi
Wow. this place is really set up to be in a hibachi restaurant. They only have one two person table in the whole restaurant. They have sushi on certain days. We were lucky enough to snag the two person table for lunch. Sushi was very good. Service was kind of spotty because we could tell that our waitress was not used to being in that restaurant. She didn’t know the menu at all. But she was very nice and she did her best. The sushi was excellent as usual.
Playmakers Bar & Arcade
This was one of the better playmakers we’ve been to. Right beside the casino. The service was pretty good. The food was good as well. We’ve been to some playmaker where we were very disappointed, but this one was really nice.
Sorrento's Pizza
Sorrento’s. Always gets five stars with me. Free pizza or you can eat. What more can you ask for?

Ship tip
make sure you try the fish and ships on the pool deck. Independence of the seas is the only ship that I know of that has this particular eatery. Try it out free fish and chips from 11 to 6.
