Review summary

Overall we had a pleasant experience. I'm not sure if we'd cruise with Royal again for reasons such as lack of entertainment for teens, having an Arcade Room that you must pay for each game, lack of seafood during dining.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation had been a breeze.

My only complaint would be Royal Caribbean didn't offer much seafood. Their food was good could have been better. Royals waitstaff were top tier.

There wasn't much for my teenage son to do. In their Arcade Room you must pay for all the games.

Marvin our room steward was the best! Our waitstaff Natasha and Thando delivered world class customer service.

My wife and I did Independence of the Seas for our first cruise. It was for our 10 year anniversary. We absolutely loved it. It is a smaller boat meant for older crowds. The newer boats offer more options for young kids. Our kids loved Anthem and Symphony.

You should have researched the ship for your teenage son before booking. Not sure what they have on that ship but there’s always a basketball court and a lot of ships have water slides and the flo-rider. And any arcades I’ve heard of are charged for each game. Can get pretty expensive.

The industry is changing... Its more and more about the bottom line and all inclusive varies from one ship to another. Tks for sharing
