Fun; but, wish I had known the Refreshment drink package was worthless.

Bring your own food or do paid dining. Don't buy the Refreshment drink package. If you do included dining, lean toward fried foods. Do not get the prime rib or the key lime pie.

As expected.

Ship tip

Don't buy the Refreshment drink package. There is almost nothing available on the ship. They close the soda fountains at night. And, they will try to charge you over $5 per bottle of water despite having the drink package. The Refreshment drink package cost me $30/drink.

Got stuck in an elevator. Uneventful other than that.

Agree with the food! Independence of the Seas - Nov 26… Windjammer lunch was horrible! Main dinning room was ok… I had to pay for Giovanni’s table in order to get great food in the ship. The Key lunch at main dinning room was ok (only de filet mignon was good). The Key breakfast on the last day was nice!

I have to agree about the food. Just got off independance black friday. The main dining room was average. Promenade just ok. Sorentos ehh. Windjammer horrible!

Sorry you didn't read and therefore fully understand what was included in the refreshment package and therefore were disappointed in your assumption which also extended to your lamentable expectations about food. An unfortunate experience to be sure which will hopefully result in being better informed providing positive choice-making in the future resulting in the excellent experience that you expect. It looks like you had an amazing time otherwise, Happy cruising. 🛳️

I get the Refreshments packages every cruise; I love my mocktail drinks, Red Bull, Water (I get 2 bottle each times) with a drinks, coffee to mocha, everything except alcohol; saves me so much money, compare to having to pay $8$12 per drinks.

@dminium I agree. I was thinking the same thing.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your cruise. I feel like this is either a fake review or you didn't understand the food options or drink package. I have always been able to find something great to eat and I have drank a boatload (pun intended) of alcohol and non alcohol drinks on every cruise and never paid a penny over the cost of the package. If you truly did cruise then perhaps cruising is not for you.

Thanks for the review. Food is very subjective. We’ve always found the quality of the food on Royal Caribbean good to excellent. We usually just drink what is offered for free and haven’t found a need to purchase a drink package or additional drinks.

Bring your own food?! A ship is literally full of food and it is a large part of the cost of the cruise. I do not believe they will allow passengers to bring food on board other than prepackaged snacks. Also there is no safe food storage in a ship cabin. The refrigerators are meant only for cooling beverages.
