If you are a smoker, you will love the Casino, one side of the outdoor pool area or outside on 1/2 of the ship (on the level walkers walks their miles daily) as smoking is allowed. I am not a smoker therefore I didn't like it.

I agree with everything you said grandmarnnurse. Smoking should not be allowed on cruise ships. The smoke travels and it’s not fair for us to have to breathe it. The ships would still do good business without it so I don’t understand what’s stopping them from doing away with it.

I am all for banning smoking entirely in casinos. My wish is to have totally smoke free ships, but that’s not likely to happen soon. There are now more non smokers than smokers because most of the public realizes how dangerous it is, and is smart enough to quit. It’s time that cruise lines wake up to the fact and take appropriate measures. And, please, no shouts of “but it’s my right to smoke.” No. It is not a right. It is an addiction that harms others around you. It’s time the majority speaks up, and that is us non smokers. As for beer costing $10—😱. It’s only $6.25-6.50 on Carnival.

I'm not against smokers - my mom smoked till she died of cancer at 49. But why do cruise lines dedicate half of their public places, which means most all areas are affected, to a small percentage of the guests. Less than 15 percent of American adults smoke. I'm sure a higher percent of cruisers but not 50%. Yet cruise lines continue to put smoking areas where it affects the entire ship.
