We had a very rough couple of months working up to this vacation. We definitely needed the escape from reality, and this cruise was the perfect escape for us.

Food and Dining

Service in the main dining room was fantastic. Kimmette was our server and she took great care of us. Food was okay, but I've felt for a long time that the overall quality of the food has declined. It's just too hard to cook amazing meals for that many people. We made reservations at Chops for 7:30 on the last night of our cruise. While checking the RC app for something different, I noticed that they had actually made our reservations for 8:30. We ended up canceling because that's just too late for us to eat, and we were unable to make an earlier reservation at that point. We were disappointed about the mistake, but not enough to go talk with anyone about it.
Onboard Activities

We utilized the fitness center 3 out of 4 days and were very happy with the facility. Other than that, we were poolside enjoying the typical activities the crew puts on: ie belly flop contest, sexiest man contest, etc.
Entertainment

The comic was very good -we saw both his family and adult show. Entertainment in the Pub was great, as was the music on the promenade. All was exactly what was expected.
Children's Programs
We did not travel with children.
Service and Staff

The servers were great, friendly, fun and lots of energy - but the bar service was slow. I felt like maybe they have cut back on staff and they are just trying to cover too many guests with not enough bar servers poolside. We loved Charles, and he did a great job, it was just slow - and we noticed this about all of the poolside service. Room Steward was Shanara and she was wonderful. Always smiling, she did a great job with our room, and you can tell she loves her job.
Ship Quality

Layout was fine. Some of the pool bathrooms could have used a little more attention throughout the day, but overall it was fine.
Cabin / Stateroom

The overall cabin was fine - again, exactly what we expected. It would have been nice to have electric outlets by the bedside tables. Otherwise, it was great.
Ship tip
Get your coffee from the bar in the windjammer (where the espresso machine is). I have found the coffee RC serves is always bitter. I am always so excited to remember I can get a latte or cappucino. They have fresh orange juice there, too!
