Review summary

Fun trip - was great for a group, and very affordable if you have a group with different levels of money to spend!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were able to get on the ship fairly quickly as some of the people in our party were staying in suites so they had priority boarding. If I had to wait in the long lines, I would have rated this lower.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
5 stars on the drink package - if you plan on having 5-6 alcoholic beverages a day, this package is a steal especially if you purchase ahead of time when they are offering discounts. This also included the soda, coffee etc... package so it was a good deal for us. Will I admit I have high expectations when it comes to food, so I was not impressed here, and the free/included options on the ship are limited. Free food options: pizza was fantastic, main dining room isn't very good at all for dinner - with exception to the appetizers...once we realized this, we went in for apps one night and left. The windjammer buffet does a really nice spread at breakfast, however lunch options got stale - burgers and hotdogs every day with some random main dishes mixed in...would have liked to see some more "themes" or variation from day to day - we never ate dinner here. For paid options, we ate at Johnny Rockets ($10 per person, all you can order) and liked the burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings and shakes. We also at the sports bar one night - wings and sliders and they were great! Based off the food in the main dining room, we never took the plunge to purchase steaks or do fine dining for fear that it wouldn't be very good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
TONS to do on this ship - we didn't take advantage of everything as we're big pool goers by day. The pools were nice, but with the size of the ship and the amount of people they could stand to be bigger. Got a piece of glass in my foot one day at the pool, the life guard tried to tell me it was a splint...but sure enough it was glass...lesson learned, wear shoes always even right up to the edge of the pool. We used the fitness center one day, great amentities. Waterslides were fun to try a few times, the surfing/wave area looked a little dicey for our liking (too many people wiping out, looked like it hurt), and the rockwall and jump ball were closed the entire ship ride. Mini-golf was a good way to burn 20 minutes. Casino was a lot of fun at night!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed all the piano bar type of singing at schooners each night. I only wish they were longer - it seemed nearly every entertainment/band/show on the ship lasted only 30-45 minutes. Would have been cool if the entertainment lasted longer.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
I don't have children, but we did have children traveling in our group and they loved the kid's club, waterslides, ice show and the kids pool area.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Some people were amazing, some not so much...had a few bartenders yelling at people various times about how they prefered their lines to run. Bar service was slow. Majority of personel were awesome. We LOVED the "wash your hands" mariachi band that placed at the entrance of the buffet

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very cool ship, tons to do - sometimes felt very crowded (pools) as there are a TON of people trying to do the same thing

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was great size, loved having the balcony and our housekeeping did a great job and always left little surprises for us. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is due to the bathroom and shower size...shower is nearly impossible to function in - if the bathroom floor had a drain it would have been nice to just open the shower doors

Ship tip

We loved relaxing in the steam room at the gym each morning!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Went to the beach after we docked before our flight - it was gorgeous

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Had a blast here on our excursion, and then surprisingly in the water right by the port - there's a staircase to go down (in front of senor frogs) and the water is crystal clear and gorgeous. Enjoyed some great nachos at "Mandys"...bring some cash!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Easy to get off the ship, however a 45 minute customs line was quite aggrivating. It would be nice if you could utilize the mobile passport entry to make this process quicker.

Just FYI, shower floor does have a drain, it is hidden against the wall under the toilet.
