This cruise was unpleasant and the worst I've ever been on, out of 11 RC cruises, including this same exact ship in March 2017, which was a totally different experience. Prior to the norovirus outbreak, I was already disgusted with the service. The sick passengers everywhere was the cherry on top for my party.

I've been sick on cruises before and I agree, it's not fun. But I stay in my cabin if I'm sick so that a.) I don't feel worse and b.) I don't pass on whatever I have to other passengers and possibly get sick again...the only thing worse than getting sick on a cruise is getting sick twice on a cruise! And I make sure I take my meds and see the doc on board if I need to.....that is, after all, why they're there!

We were on the ship too and lucky enough not to get sick. The crew did an amazing job keeping the ship clean and sanitized after the outbreak. Funboomer47 is absolutely correct, we saw a few people, who probably never saw the ship doctor walking around complaining how sick they were and spreading their germs. The ones quarantined to their rooms were still leaving when they were not cleared to leave, it got to a point RC had to put security guards in front of people’s rooms. I saw guest yelling at the poor crew members, trying to control the whole situation. It wasn’t the sickness going around the ship that disgusted me, it were the way the passengers were acting on the ship towards the crew and other passengers, completely disgusting.!!!!!!

Please do not make assumptions of what I did and did not do - what I expect and do not expect - I was asked to give honest review and I did - I am not a stranger to Cruising and know the precautions to take and do

Some people do not practice hand washing at home so it's harder for them when they are amongst other people it's only too bad that if only the person who is carrying this virus could be honest and stay away from everyone and avoid eating foods for at least 12 hours to help stop the spread of this nasty virus.

I agree funboomer47! It's not like you can cancel flights and cruise when sick, you would be out alot of money, but anyone sick and everyone else should always use the hand sanitizer!

It is not any cruiselines fault. It is cold and flu season and people come onboard already having a virus. I know that the ships do all they can by constantly wiping down areas but they can't control sick people walking all over the ship touching things and coughing and sneezing. If an infected person sees the ship doctor then they are quarantined. Not everyone sees the ship doctor and runs all over the ship infecting others. The ship has no obligation to give you anything but it is nice that they are going to. It's very common on ships during the flu season. All cruiselines, not just RC go through this every winter. Blame your fellow passengers that don't confine themselves when they are sick and don't wash their hands a lot and infect everything they breath on and touch. You need to wash your hands often and use those little bottles of disinfective hand wash.

We were on Oasis of the Seas last year and it was wonderful but now I am not likely to cruise with R C again - no compensation offered yet - they stated it would be determined and sent a percentage based on quarantine per day toward another cruise -

It was on the news that over 330 on this sailing were sick. I'm so sorry for you all. Spend so much money for a family vacation and this happens. Were you offered any compensation? Hope you all are better.

8 of 10 was how many in my group- they wanted a honest review and I gave it - I plan all year for our family cruise and it was a Major disappointment -

cowboybluiee    7 years ago

that was really terrible, I hope you helped the crew out those 2 out of 10 that weren't sick. Only 20% of crew trying to run boat. How did you know how many were sick, you all must of been sick or had virus before got on ship, doesn't spread that fast. 8 out of 10 Really!!
