Review summary

We really enjoyed our time on the ICON of the Seas. This ship is great for families with children, but there is something for everyone. It has raised the bar on entertainment. The weather was a bit chilly while we were onboard, so we didn't spend much time sitting on deck, but this didn't take away from our enjoyment. There was so much to do onboard that we were able to keep busy - maybe even too busy! ;-)

Embarkation

5 out of 5
From curb to stateroom, everything was smooth and efficient!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was very good. Buffets had a wide variety of food and desserts. There was something for everyone.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
While we didn't take advantage of all the activities, there was certainly a variety from which to choose. We enjoyed the outdoor track and watching the pickleball tournament.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were spectacular! They were a step above anything we have experienced on other cruises. We never expected an ice skating show and an aquatics performance to be of the caliber it was. These are not to be missed! The Wizard of Oz was amazing as well! The variety of music throughout the ship was plentiful and everyone was so talented.

Children's Programs

We didn't bring any children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The ship personnel always had a smile on their face and were happy to help.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We felt the ship layout was well done. It is a large ship, yet it didn't feel overwhelming. It was broken into easy to navigate sections.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was on the smaller side. The infinite balcony gave you extra indoor space, but personally did not like it's function as a balcony. Having to bring the window up and down was a bit of a hassle. It was noisy and didn't provide the same feel as a traditional balcony. When the window was open, the a/c didn't regulate the room properly, and we were concerned that a bird could fly in. We much prefer the door that opens and closes and the room and balcony as separate entities, but this is just our personal preference. The cabin was clean.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
We didn't do anything in Miami other than board and explore the ship.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Coco Cay was huge and had many different areas that you could hang out, from relaxing at the beach or the pool or playing at the waterpark. There was something for everyone.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Went very smoothly. We were off the ship quickly with no issues.
