Review summary

Everything is better on land: hotel rooms are bigger, pools are bigger, drinks are cheaper, activities are less crowded, your not rushed off the island, people are less likely to let their children run around unsupervised.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Safety process was good, but there was a lot of confusion with everything else

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
They seem to stress quantity over quality. Very bland.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Every activity on a ship is worse than it is on land. E.g., the pools are smaller, the slides are slower, the mini golf is lame

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The performers were very talented. However, the shows were poorly conceived. It was also difficult to get reservations.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most of the staff were friendly, but not all. They seem over worked and understand. And they are constantly asking for additional tips.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The adult section needs it's own pool. The main pool section needs a movie screen. There were spills not cleaned for days.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Everything is worse on a ship. The cabin was small and there wasn't any conditioner or lotion.

Ship tip

Don't do it

Horribly! They kick you out of your room at 8am and then make you wait in line hours to get off the boat.

If you want space, invest in a suite. If you want service, invest in Star Class. If you want a less crowded experience, invest in a trip on a smaller ship. If you want no kids underfoot, invest in a line that does not allow kids. Your experience sounds like you have set you expectations incorrectly. Unfortunate.

I have never been asked or solicited by an staff member for additional tips on any cruise. But I have given them for exceptional service.

Appreciate your feedback. Sorry cruising wasn’t what you expected.

Just a couple of comments from your review. Dining - the menus were recently changed, and the offerings are now more limited than before. I agree the quality could be improved. Adult pool - the Solarium pool is adult only. Finally, movies are played in the Aqua Theater. There aren't lounge chairs like the pool rea but there are 2 screens and plenty of snacks and drinks nearby.

Sounds like cruising isn’t your thing & that’s ok! Lots of our friends don’t understand our love for cruising. Maybe you should try an all-inclusive adult only venue next.

As Worldwide04 stated cruising is not for everyone. If you expect cruising to be like land resorts, it will not meet your expectations, plain and simple. If you are looking for a vacation where the outside scenery changes daily, the room "follows" you to each port of call, then cruising fulfills those expectations. Like land resorts they have their issues with quality of service, kids running around, etc. The ship you went on was one of the largest at sea - a smaller ship would be less crowded. Drinks by the glass are indeed expensive. Buying a package prior to cruising can be beneficial in controlling those expenses.

Wow! What did you expect!! It is a ship not a 100 acre resort. Have a feeling nothing would make you happy. Leave cruising to those of us who love it. We do research and don't expect a ship to be the same as a land resort.

Cruising is not for everyone, take note and never go back to cruising. Take your land vacation and enjoy. Pro tip: Do some research before taking any other vacation in order to make sure is up to your “expectations”.
