Review summary

Cruise was fine. Not exceptional. Cost cuts are apparent (room serviced once per day, buffet restaurant- Windjammer - closed at 9pm). We always do early seating for dinner and like to go for nibble after the show... Sorrento's pizza on the Boardwalk was only option. Sick of pizza by the 3rd day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room food was good, but not as good as past Royal Caribbean cruises.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were entertaining. Water show needs a story line, but impressive skills. Ice show storyline was weak. Columbus show was dumb... performers were good.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Great ship crew... clearly stretched too thin. Room only gets done once per day (though tips are assessed the same)

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disembarking was a nightmare. They had us in a line going down one side of the ship only to loop around and come back through the door we went out. We crossed to the other side of the ship and the routed us through a dining room's fire exit onto the deck. Took at least 1- 1/2 hours winding around. Toughest on older folks. VERY few crew members overseeing the process.

We were one of the last groups called to leave the ship #48. We were in no hurry since flight wasn't till afternoon. When they called our number, we literally walked right off the ship. That did put us on the curb waiting for a ride with a few hundred other folks. The port should do something to help get traffic through there quicker. Once we got a car, our Uber driver got creative and got us outta there quickly.

Appreciate your feedback. Sorry it didn’t quite meet your expectations.

Windjammer has always closed at 9 pm. It has never been a 24 hour buffet.

There have been cutbacks since Covid, but cruise lines stopped cleaning cabins twice a day before Covid.

There have been cutbacks on all cruise lines since Covid. The disembarkation process has gotten worse since the majority of people now do self debarkation and try to take their own luggage.
