Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Royal Caribbean is always on point with the food!

Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

Royal Caribbean MDR is always what I look forward too every day of the cruise. Portions are good sized and food is always tasty! The Terimisu and Chocolate Brownie desserts were my favorites. Our server Peter was always ontop of things and did a great job.

150 Central Park

5 out of 5

We did the Taste of Royal which was a sample of foods from different specialty restaurants. Would highly recommend!

Windjammer Marketplace

5 out of 5

Only ate there once for lunch and a few times for breakfast. Breakfast buffet doesn't change but has quite a large selection. Royal Caribbean never misses with the buffet.

Sorrentos

5 out of 5

Can't ever go wrong with Pizza! They also have various antipasti, of which I found the fried mushrooms to be very good.

Cafe Promenade

5 out of 5

Great place for late night snacks! Always had a variety of sandwiches and deserts which would change day-to-day.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Did the Flowrider once and the rockwall twice. Both times I did the rockwall they only had one side open which I thought was a bit odd. Fitness center was clean and had plenty of work out equipment.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was great but the Aquatheater show was a bit odd compared to the one I saw on Oasis of the Seas.

Aquatheater

3 out of 5

The Aquatheater show on this ship was very odd compared to the one on Oasis of the Seas. My dad said it was the worst show he had ever seen and got up and left halfway through. Also it was canceled most nights due to the boat rocking. If you have never seen one of their Aquatheater shows it's worth the watch but not the best one they have by far.

Royal Theater

5 out of 5

We saw the show "Grease" during the cruise and it was great. A bit adult oriented but overall great show with good dancing and singing! Make sure to get there early as the seats fill up VERY fast!

Studio B

5 out of 5

We were unable to see their orginal production show "1887" because there was an injury on the last day night of the cruise when we were booked for it, so they turned it around to show "iSkate" instead. Was a great ice show with lots of moves and music.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward Ferd was great, kept the room nice and clean! Our MDR waiter Peter was also great and on point. Never had a bad interaction with staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The design is very thoughtful and the ship was well maintained. I liked the various art pieces in the stair wells and the comic strip artwork in the bathrooms. Don't feel bad if you have a hard time getting around at first as it's a massive ship, but there are helpful maps almost everywhere you look, especially in the elevator areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I will say I hope you enjoy firm beds because these are VERY firm. Sheets are good quality but bed could feel a bit short for tall people. Room AC was fine and bathroom was good. Room was nice and clean. There was a banging and grinding noise that would come from somewhere during the day which was odd given we were surrounded by cabins.

Ship tip

Make sure you become familiar with the general layout of the ship before boarding, this will help you a lot. Also you need the Royal Caribbean app to reserve entertainment once on the ship but it never filled up so no rush.

Ports of call

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
This island was stunning, and there was much more shopping close to the port area than there was in St. Thomas. I did the Mount Liamuiga volcano hike via Shore Excursions Group (Royal Caribbean also offers the same experience for a higher price). It was a very intensive hike up the summit, two hours both ways. Our guide was excellent and waited for those who fell behind. He even brought fresh bread and orange juice so we could eat and drink when we got to the top. Though the hike is hard it is very much worth it! Also you will generally get back at around 2-3pm so good amount of time left to shop and get ready if you have the early dinner time.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Port area is very nice, lots of iguanas there too for photos. I did the Royal Caribbean Discover Diving excursion which was EPIC. This was my first time diving and was a bit nervous but I never once felt unsafe and all instructions were given clearly. The waters are very pretty and we dove right off an avian sanctuary island. Got to see a sea turtle having lunch just two feet from me which was neat, plenty of fish and coral around the ship wreck we dove at as well. I highly recommend this for anybody who wants to try diving for the first time. (NOTE: If you want to shop the diving trip got back to ship about 20 minutes before early dinner time so keep that in mind)

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Even with two ships it's quite a large island so there were ways to escape the crowds. South Beach was by far the least populated and has a free food area (though you trade crowds for a smaller food outlet), volleyball ball, ping pong, bars (land and swim up), bathrooms, and showers. Got a Coco Loco and chilled on the beach, very relaxing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarking was a breeze, was off the ship and in the parking lot in about 10 minutes. All you had to do was stand in front of this machine that looked at your face and then walk out to the parking lot, no long customs line or passport stamping (though you did have to get checked if the machine selected you).
