In summary, Harmony is a beautiful ship and perfect for groups or families. However, we realised we prefer the smaller ships and not having to book everything in advance, although the larger solarium and the delightful Central Park were definite highlights. The itinerary was a perfect mix of of port and sea days, beach and culture and we had wonderful weather.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We used GoPort to get from Orlando. Checkin was super easy and we were straight on board.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We only went to the main dining room once, partly due to scheduling issues. The menu is becoming a little stale now. Time for sone new options and less reliance on the old favourites. We did not think 150 Central Park was all that good but we did enjoy Wonderland and Jamie’s Italian. The buffet was generally crowded and the food not very hot. The solarium bistro was a better bet for breakfast.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Something for everyone.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
What we saw was excellent, but having to wait until you board before you can reserve seats leads to a bit of stress and confusion as you try and juggle restaurants and shows. We sadly missed the aqua show as both nights were cancelled due to rough seas.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff were always cheerful and welcoming. The lady serving the “I love you” jus on the kumelweck sandwiches in Park Cafe was a highlight!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The decor is lovely with many works of art. Everywhere was spotless and staff were always cleaning. Our favourite spots to relax were the solarium or Central Park. It was so pretty and tranquil at night.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This was an inside cabin with a virtual window. We found it very spacious and enjoyed being able to see how the weather was each day. The bed was slightly firm but our steward brought us a mattress topper which helped considerably. The location was perfect for us.
Ship tip
Consider set dining times, or reserve my time dining as early as you can, to get your first choice. If you have a late departure from a port, see if the aqua show is scheduled. Less likely to be cancelled than if you are in open seas.
We took our own luggage. The only minus was having to weave our way around the deck to form a queue, but it did move fairly quickly. We were at the airport by 8.30!
Appreciate your feedback. I’m sure some people really like the new bigger ships. Like you, we prefer them to be a bit smaller. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of the ship size.
