Review summary

The Oasis class of ships are wonderful. This is my second mega ship cruise with Royal and I am forever a Royal fan! It is by far our favorite cruise line! We already working on our European cruise for our 30th wedding anniversary in 2023!

Embarkation

Embarkation was extremely smooth. We were on the ship in less than 35 minutes from our assigned arrival time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ordered room service for breakfast every morning to avoid the large crowds in the Wind Jammer and other “buffet like” breakfast and it work out great for us! We had an ocean view balcony and breakfast every morning with a view was priceless! There is a 7.95 room service fee for “continental” breakfast but it was worth every penny to sit out in the balcony every morning and enjoy our breakfast. I highly recommend it if you are traveling solo or with a spouse. The solarium food was ok, I felt like it was almost the same menus every day. The MDTwas awesome! We enjoyed every meal each night.

Onboard Activities

So much to do on the ship. My only complaint is you could not book any shows Until you arrived on the ship and it made it very difficult to reserve some shows that would conflict with our my time dining reservations. A couple of evenings we had to rush through our dining experience to make it to a show. Other than that all the shows we watch were amazing! I did the slide and it was so much fun!

Entertainment

Loved every show on the ship. My only complaint is having to wait u til we were on the ship to book the shows and there where a few that conflicted with our my time dinning reservations I had already Reserved in advance. Fortunately we were able to change a couple of dining reservations but for a couple others we had to rush through our dining experience to make it on time. Other than that. Great shows. The outdoor diving show, Grease, the Ice Skating show, etc where all great productions!

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Loved Coco Cay, very family oriented even though we didn’t travel with children Lots of things to do on the island. We had booked in advance the Pig Island excursion and unfortunately it was cancelled due to weather (which had already cleared off by the time we arrived) but I understand for safety. We didn’t even know it had been canceled until we stop a staff member to ask her which way to go to the meeting station and she told us it was canceled. That was a little disappointing as i really wanted to swim with pigs, lol. We were reimbursed which was fine.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

One of my favorite destinations. We booked the Orient beach escape tour with lunch. Lunch was ok, drinks were great! Unfortunately the beach was full of seaweed so not the best to swim in, we were told in advance at the pier and given the choice to not go and get reimbursed but we went anyway and glad we did.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Always a beautiful island to visit! It’s our 4 time in St.Thomas. Highly recommend having lunch at Glady’s in town. Great place to eat some authentic Caribbean food.

Smooth and quick. We were scheduled for an 8:30 embarkation and we were literally in our car by 9:05.
