Review summary

This was a great first cruise for my daughter and me. The boat was amazing. The food was good, specialty restaurant Jamie Oliver and Sabor was excellent. A little disappointed in the excursions but overall great experience and can't wait for our next one.

Embarkation

Line was long but moved quickly. I was told it isn't normally like that but because of COVID and all of the additional paperwork it was a little longer than usual.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room food was good, wouldn't say great. Loved Jamie Oliver's and Sabor, excellent food. Buffets were good, so much to choose from. If you are hungry on a cruise it is your own fault :)

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
My 17-yr old would have like to have the pools open later at night.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Did the comedy, ice-skating, water, and Broadway show (Grease), all were great. The comedians were hilarious. The dance club is for ages 18. Would be nicer if they split this out, but understand space. The music 18yrs old are listening to is probably not the same us young 50 folks are.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
The 12-17 is a wide range and when you are at the top age group you don't have the same interest.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. Janisa that took care of stateroom was excellent.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
First time cruising and the ship was amazing. So much to do and see. I couldn't believe how much they cleaned the ship. Other than room service dishes in the hallway because they weren't picked up yet, boat looked spotless to me. You set a dish down they picked it up.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Had a ocean view balcony room and loved it. For 2 it was plenty of room. Not sure how it would be with 3-4. Bed was very comfortable, probably some of my best sleep. Room was very clean, Janisa took good care of us.

Ship tip

I would not get the refreshment package again. We did not use that often. Unless you drink a lot of soda, I don't think worth it. Next time I will bring a water bottle and a case of soda/gatorade.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Was good, no excursion

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Port was great. We did the swimming of the pigs. We were the first excursion but for whatever reason staff was running late and no one was there for 1hr to check us in.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Port beautiful. We were supposed to snorkel at Sapphire Beach but the ocean was very choppy so couldn't go. A little disappointment RC did not offer a refund. The company that run the excursion at the beach did not find them to be helpful/friendly at all. Basically said its very choppy, here's your gear, the reef is over there, good luck. Never even offered flippers to help us, had to ask.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

The port itself was beautiful, which we had more time to be at the beach. We did the horseback riding excursion. Was just okay. Not the scenic tour I was thinking right next to the industrial section. I give the port a 4 but the excursion probably a 2.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
easy breezy
