Review summary

A great cruise. Can’t wait to go again next year!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Super fast! There was a bit of a line outside the terminal where they were checking vaccine cards and test results, but we waited less than ten minutes. Once we were inside, there was no wait at all. We were a party of four - two of us had 11:00 embarkation and two had 11:30. We all got on the ship together around 11:15.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate dinner in the main dining room every night but one. Food was good and the service was great. We had dinner at Sabor one night and LOVED it. Best meal of the trip. The chicken bacon jalapeño appetizer was fantastic. We had breakfast in the Windjammer each day - mostly because the main dining room closed so early for breakfast. I don’t think it was ever open past 8:30 and on port days they closed even earlier. We like to sleep in and relax while on vacation, so buffet it was.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
So much to do! My teenagers loved the Flow Rider and water slides. I wish some of the other activities - rock wall, zip line, ice skating - had longer hours of operation.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The best show on the ship was Kevin Johnson - a ventriloquist. He was fabulous. We had been looking forward to Grease, but it fell short of our expectations. The whole show was so over the top and exaggerated. The Aqua Show was simply a showcase of dives - not a real show. The iSkate show was good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Our room steward, Jacqueline, was fantastic. We had My Time Dining and still wound up with the same wait staff in the dining room each night. By night three, they were bringing us drinks and the certain rolls we liked within a minute or two of being seated.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was clean and there were plenty of sanitizer stations around the ship. Lots of maps and signs to help you get from one place to another.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had connecting Boardwalk balcony cabins. Our room steward had to unlock the door in between with a key, but then there was no way for us to lock it again throughout the week. Not a big deal, just not what I had been expecting. We enjoyed having a little view of the ocean, but next time will probably go for Central Park balcony rooms to cut down on some noise.

Ship tip

We loved all of the activities in the On Air room - Name that Tune, trivia, karaoke - but the space is small and filled up fast. Be sure to arrive twenty minutes early to get a seat. Have a drink from the bar while you wait!

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
The best private island we have been to! We did the water park and had a blast. Totally worth the cost of admission. I will make sure that Coco Cay is on the itinerary of any future cruise we book.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We paid $10 per person each way and took a taxi to Magen’s Bay. $5 per person to get on the beach. Cheaper than going through Royal. The beach was gorgeous.

Disembarkation

The fastest we have ever gotten off of a ship! The new facial recognition technology meant we didn’t even have to stop at customs.
