Review summary

It was an amazing family trip and experience! I would book with Royal Caribbean again for sure!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was amazingly fast! We walked right on! Never seen anything like it!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate in the dining room every night with a large group and it was wonderful! We had kids so didn’t do any specialty restaurants.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was a lot of activities to choose from! Our kids loved the kid climbing wall, pools, and carousel. The Abyss and big rock climbing wall and water slides were also fun if you are tall enough!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I was very disappointed in Grease. It was very crude and raunchy. Definitely NOT family friendly, which was disappointing because I had young kids who would enjoy a musical. It was way worse than the movie. Columbus has fun music but it also had innuendo that was not necessary. Next time I might choose the ship which plays Hairspray so my kids can watch it.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My child in the 3-6 age group really enjoyed the kids club and the activities but my daughter in the 6-8 age group went once and did not want to go back. Same with the under 3 age group. He did not want to go back.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward Ryan was amazing! Very friendly and was quick to help us out if we needed it. Our waiters were the best! We were in a large group of 16, with 8 of them being young kids. Our waiters were entertaining and friendly and are up there with the best I’ve ever had on a cruise.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean! The public bathrooms were always clean, even by the pool! The ship was very well designed. So much so that my 5 year old would say “I want to go to the carousel! Let’s go to deck 6!” “It’s time to eat! We have to go to level 3!”

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very spacious cabins! And the bathrooms were wonderful! I was very impressed with the rooms.

Ship tip

Don’t forget to book your shows early! And set a dining time! There was always a long line for My Time dining.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Oh I want to go back here already! It was amazing! It was very very windy the day we were there but it didn’t take away from how much there was to do! The pool was huge and the kids loved the splash pad and beach! The food was delicious as well! We didn’t do the water park because our kids weren’t tall enough so everything was free which was nice!

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
There was 5 cruise ships in port the same time as us so the beach was VERY busy! But the kids really enjoyed the swimming and the water taxi was fast and efficient.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
We only did the forts, but they were close enough to walk to and inexpensive. Beautiful views from the fort!

Disembarkation

We got off very easily as well. Quickly walked off and right to our bags.

I thought the shows had inappropriate innuendo as well. If I had young children I would not take them. We are already going back in June and I do not plan to watch the shows again. The actors are too talented for this type of story line.

This is the 2nd review that has mentioned Grease not being suitable for children...I have seen it twice on 2 different cruises and don't recall it being offensive, wondering what has changed, actors ab libbing?
