Review summary

Overall excellent and would recommend this cruise and Royal Caribbean. A few minor areas for Royal Caribbean to address to keep their standard for excellence that has come to be the expectation when sailing with them.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very efficient

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Had unlimited beverage package however towards end of cruise royal Caribbean started restricting refills. Could fill drink but then had to wait at least an hour to refill - this was never communicated and is not unlimited. I expected better from Royal Caribbean on this.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Zip line, slides, mini golf, arcade, pools

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Overall good - would have given excellent but the Columbus the Musical was disappointing- story was pointless and acting was only fair. Aqua show, ice skating show and other entertainment were fantastic.

Children's Programs

Children too old

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service as usual was friendly, prompt and attentive.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean both throughout ship and in stateroom

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Having the balcony was. Ice and helped make the space seem not as small

Ship tip

It’s a big ship with a lot of people. Dining and activities can be crowded. If this is an issue for you look at dining and activities at off times during the day.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
St Maarten is great but St Maarten in December is very crowded. Took 3.5 hours to return from an excursion to Maho Beach which is normally a 35-40 minute drive. Excursion was good but crowds at the beach and extended travel times detracted from the experience

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Love Old San Juan. We did not do an excursion, there is plenty to do on your own within easy walking distance. The old forts are very enjoyable with great views

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas Did not visit port

Weather - high wind and storms in Bahamas - we went to Labadee, Haiti instead. Greatly appreciate the captain’s concern for safety and decision to change ports. Royal Caribbean did a great job of communicating changes early and often. Very much enjoyed Labadee.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very fast and organized
