Review summary

Overall I really enjoyed it, and Harmony is my favorite ship so far. Can’t wait to book our next cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was really smooth since we did check-in online. We got to the port around 10:45am and it took maybe 10mins before we were on the ship. I was really impressed with how fast the process was.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We only went to MDR on 2 nights but we were very pleased with the food when we did go. We also enjoyed our 3 night specialty dining package, we loved the more intimate settings and more attention from staff. Chops and 150 Central Park were amazing. Wonderland was great for optics and the service there was wonderful, however I wouldn’t say the food was my personal favorite, I understand others feel differently. Overall, while I did enjoy the experience of specialty dining, I don’t see myself paying for it on every cruise.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We loved the water slides and whirlpools. My husband did zip lining which he said wasn’t nearly as scary as it looked. We walked along the track on deck 5 and we liked that there were places to stop and relax along the way.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows were awesome and I’m not even into musicals like that. We saw Grease which I would highly recommend. We also saw the Fine Line in the Aqua theatre and the actors were really talented. The ice skating show (1887) always makes me nervous with some of the stunts but they always pull it off.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were most pleased with our room steward and the servers at specialty dining.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love the ship’s design and the current technology. For the most part the ship was kept clean which is great considering how many guests there were. If there were any spills or food left over it didn’t stay for long. I’ve been on smaller ships that were way worse.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great Boardwalk Balcony cabin.

Ship tip

Do as much as you can online before the cruise (dinner or show reservations, checkin, excursions etc)

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
We went to the El Zafiro Resort with a nice private beach experience. Unfortunately there was a car wreck or broken down car that pretty much backed up traffic for a couple of hours while going back to the ship. We booked our excursion through RC so we weren’t really worried, but it was a close call for many. I’m sure this doesn’t happen that often, but it’s a good example to give yourself enough extra time to get back to the ship if you venture out on your own.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Went to El Yunque Rainforest on a RC excursion which was beautiful. The tour guide was very entertaining. We got back to Old San Juan with enough time to have some local food, but I don’t remember the name of the restaurant unfortunately.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We carried our own bags off the ship and I was surprised with how quick and streamlined the disembarkation process has gotten. Took maybe 5 mins. The port has the facial recognition process now (I guess just for passport holders?idk), and we were just able to walk off the ship, scan our faces at customs, and be on our way. I used to dread disembarkation but not anymore.
