Review summary

Overall, it was a great cruise. We had cruised on Disney and the Allure previously. The Harmony was just too big for me. Although the service was very friendly I felt it was better on the Allure. The crowds and lines were ridiculous. We purchased the Key in in my opinion it wasn't worth the expense. The internet was great but I could have gone without it. The priority boarding didn't work so well because of a coast guard check and the priority disembarking on the islands were rough. People were angry as we walked past them pushing into us. I'm sure there's a market for cruising on this large of a ship but we are going to downsize next cruise.

Embarkation

The only reason for the four stars was because I had purchased the Key and we had a mandatory coast guard safety check so we didn't get on as early as I was hoping. Once the ship was cleared, it was very fast getting on.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The MDR service and food was fantastic. I was never disappointed. Our servers were very friendly and fast. Chops grill was amazing and I strongly suggest it. We only used the windjammer a couple times because the ship was full so the crowds in the WJ were ridiculous. We loved grabbing a quick hot dog on the boardwalk but they ran out the last couple of days on the cruise. Room service took over an hour each time we used it.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
This ship has so much to do. I traveled with my husband and 4 children ages 16, 14, 8 and 7. The pools were crazy busy on sea days. Lines were ridiculous for the water slides. All lines were very long for the activities. We did used the benefits of the Key and had private times for rock wall climbing, zip lining, wave finder and the abyss.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw Grease, which was very good and well worth it. The other great show was fine line. Both those shows were excellent. The DJ was fun too and my youngest learned how to DJ with him. At bolleros my husband and I would enjoy a drink and listen to the music. The bar tenders there were the best.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
All my kids loved their kids club. My youngest kept asking to go back. Again, since it was a full ship one night there were 75 kids in adventure ocean and the staff did such a fantastic job.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward Maria was amazing. She cleaned the room twice a day and made towel animals for the kids. We also enjoyed our MDR servers. We had Randy, Beerse, Nanda and Ronnie. They were a great team and we really enjoyed eating there every night. Our favorite bar tenders were in bolleros Mark, Roel, Ajit, and Marilia. Excellent service, especially for the size ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was huge. Honestly, a little too big for me. It's laid out very well but if the ship is full it's very crowded. They were always cleaning the ship and I was very pleased with the cleanliness.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had adjoining ocean view balconies. It was really nice to be able to go from room to room and also have two bathrooms

Ship tip

If the ship is full be prepared for long waits. Make sure you make reservations for shows and attractions. They turned many away on this cruise.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

This island is still recovering from hurricane Irma. We went to Maho Beach but it was a very small beach due to the hurricane. There was a cool restaurant and bar walking distance which had a small pool and a DJ. It was cool to see the planes land and take off that close.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We went to Sapphire beach and it was picture perfect. I strongly suggest this because the water is lovely. There's a bar at the beach for drinks and food and it includes a beach chair for everyone.

Disembarkation

They used facial recognition and we didn't even need our passports. Fast and easy.
