The trip was wonderful, disappointed that weather moved us from the Eastern Carribean to the Western Carribean, but still the ship was awesome.

Review summary

The cruise and ship were awesome, disappointed we had to be diverted to western carribbean, but safety first. There was so much to see on the ship that two of the three port days I came back early to just relax and walk the ship. It was still a good time Royal saw to that, but I had most of my fun on the ship. Loved seeing Cococay in person, got some great pictures.

We were on the ship by 10:30 it was awesome. Port Canaveral does things right.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
MDR was really good, service was great and our bartender was fabulous. Head waiter helped with a glitch that did not connect our reservation to the rest of our party of five. Wonderland was a fabulous experience and so fun. I thought I'd leave there hungry and was planning on late night pizza, but no way could I have eaten anymore. Windjammer was great and the night I wanted a salad my way I made it my way it was also chocolate buffet night YUM! Johnny Rocket's for breakfast was delicious and fun. Sabor's was really good too, my daughter loves Mexican.

Onboard Activities

Hot tubs were so relaxing, pool was great early mornings like around 8 met many different people and it was fun. Watched folks getting off the Great Abyss they were all smiles.

Entertainment

Grease was great, Columbus was funny, Mo5aics was our headliner and they were awesome too. My favorite had to be Adam the roving piano man, found in elevators and before the shows. He was so much fun. I have friends going next week told them to look for him.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Royal staff is always friendly and goes above and beyond even on the smallest of things. Like I had been looking for iced tea in the morning in Windjammer and was told it was apple juice, well ok I like apple juice and then this very sweet young man brings an iced tea to my table. He told me he found some iced tea for me. I thought that was special. Room steward was great and always accommodating. Anything we asked for he made sure to get. We really only asked for a few things like some tape to repair my daughter's damage suitcase. Royal did not damage it, but he was able to find some packing tape to help us out.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is beautiful, my daughter and I sailed Oasis last year and it was my first cruise and I absolutely fell in love with the Oasis. Harmony is just as beautiful, but being of an age where I don't really do slides I can't say that I liked that part. It did not interfere with my trip, except that I hoped with a boardwalk balcony I would be able to see the aqua show and the movies on the big screen, slides blocked that view. It did not block my view of the ocean nor did it interfere with me enjoying the rest of the activities I was able to see on the balcony like watching the ship wake up in the morning and seeing the Johnny Rockets staff line dancing. It was still fun.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was very comfortable, I liked that we each had our own closet. We had plenty of space, the balcony was fun. It was always immaculate after our room steward cleaned it twice a day. That just seems above and beyond, but it kept it very nice. Loved the towel animals, I guess I'm a kid at heart with that. I found the bed to be comfortable, the cabin always clean, and plenty of room to sit and relax.

Ship tip

Enjoy what you can, but don't expect to do it all in one trip too much to choose from for that. Book the shows in advance that you really want to see and check cruise planner daily, which we completely forgot to do this time.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

It's beautiful, we were a full ship so I would have liked a chair a little closer to the pool and someone to swim with me. All my sailing buddies chose the ocean or beach chair. So I was on my own for the few minutes I was able to get in the pool. Definitely hope a tram if walking is an issue. I walked there, but I road the tram back and that was a smart choice for me.

Disembarkation

It was awesome. We put our luggage out the night before and when we disembarked we could see it as we were walking down the ramp. Last time we walked our luggage off ourselves, we won't do that anymore.
