We’re not sure we’d sail with RC again unless try a small ship. Food was great though. But we’ve had better cruises with all the others we’ve done, better sleep, and better disembark!
Embarkation

It was fast and friendly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Best food we’ve had. This was our 8th cruise. Apparently when you buy the drink package, it means go get your own. The servers really only pay attention and bring drinks if you’re paying directly for each drink.
Onboard Activities

It’s a family ship. It’s all about the kids.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Great for the couple things we got to see. Apparently you have to schedule everything before you ever get on the boat!!!! Everything is fully booked up if you wait to get on the ship and choose to go see something . None of the other cruises did we miss out on entertainment; we could easily chose on the boat and same day easily. RC is extremely different.
Service and Staff

Central Park was awesome!! Ship was very clean!
Cabin / Stateroom

Very roomy. Lots of space to move around. Great view! BUT .... this bed was so hard and uncomfortable that we really got hardly any sleep the whole week! Worst bed in 8 cruises!!! Attendant put down 2 duvets to help soften and gave us feather pillows....and it didn’t help. Also frustrating that there were no shear curtains for the windows! Our drapes were drawn most the time we were in the cabin so people couldn’t see us dressing/ getting ready! We love to let the light shine in and felt very limited to do so. Would not choose inside balcony again!!
Ship tip
The wristbands are only for the kids. Everything is centered on family.
We did the paradise cove & Haitian village experience. Boat ride and beach was nice, nothing exciting. The Haitian village experience was a total joke!! It was all fake, like a tiny Disneyland thing... few people set up to go through the motions of sawing wood but not.... making peanut butter but not, making coffee but not! We were not happy about this excursion. I would not recommend at all. The people were nice and did their job, but not worth it.
Went to Blue Water Beach. It was nice. Reminds me of Mexico....people pressure selling and outright demanding tips before you even get your hand in your pocket to offer them a tip. If these people are like that all over Jamaica, then I’ve no desire to return. The bus driver to and from the beach was very nice.
We did the Fury catamaran snorkel and beach. Boat and crew was great. Snorkel time was great very short! Saw some cool fish! Need more time! They kept us packed tight, too close together ; this resulted in constantly being kicked!!! Too crowded! Then the beach was great; lots of options. Could’ve had more time there as well. For the cost, more time is desired for both functions. We were with 2 other couples who thought the same as well.
There’s no appreciation shown on the morning you leave. We went to the cafe in Central Park at 7:00 am , this is just for quick grab a nibble and go..... and the toaster wad “broken”, all their spoons and coffee cups were “being washed “, and when we sat down all the lights were turned off and people were sweeping and hitting our feet!!!!! We were not happy! And it was early!!! This ship was not friendly for getting you off the boat! There’s been many times we weren’t able to even be called to exit the ship til around 11 am or noon, but those ships never treated us in this way! What a sour end to the trip!
When you book the largest cruise ships in the world, you have to schedule the shows in advance because there's 6,000 or more passengers aboard & everyone can't go to the same show. On the smaller ships there's usually 2 shows a night & everyone on board can see the it. Personally I like the smaller ships but I book the larger ones occasionally for a change of pace. Tried a couple of other cruise lines but I feel Royal Caribbean is far superior.
