Review summary

Enjoy cruising with RCCL, Like the warm weather and R & R, will continue to grow with this cruise line and hope our suggestions and comment will help this cruise line grow and make others vacations a better one. I can't wait to go on our next cruise and have as much fun as you are about to have.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Was crowded at 10:00 Am when we arrived, We went to our appropriate location to check in and we were on the ship in 10 Minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Drinks were excellent, any drink you wanted the bar staff made and made it perfect. The food was ok in the main dining and windjammer, but specialty restaurants were excellent. I think RCCL has to make food bland to appeal to all people. All food needs spice and flavor which it lacked. I did notice RCCL moved the outside track to a different level of the ship which is more secluded and out of site...I would have preferred that they left track outside for enjoyable view, which new location lacks.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
RCCL," Harmony of the seas" has alot to offer to anyone that wants to cruise....I couldn't imagine cruising with 5500 people and 2500 staff but RCCL knows how to put a ship together. I never felt crowded at the pool or deck tanning, always a place to go and relax. I did notice the day of embarkation alot of people in the Royal Promenade and that was to be expected due to people getting onto the ship at that time. I do have to compliment RCCL on the way they re-organized the Solarium areas, dining a plus, Bar a plus, Three adult hot tubs a plus, Lots of adult only tanning chairs and visiting area in solarium.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
There is no outside big screen by the main pool, RCCL put this out back by the Aqua Theater pool,It was nice to watch a video or some time of entertainment when you were lounging by the main pool, having a cocktail and sunbathing. I was disappointed when we no longer had live outside entertainment by a band on days at sea. The music that was provided, was piped in and wasn't good at all. I do look forward to Caribbean style music and that was a rarity.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room stewards have always gone above and beyond...kudos to the room stewards. I would like to say though for a NEW ship you would put your best staff on board, I was deeply saddened by the way" My-Time dining" is a big disappointment. We had a 6:00 dining reservation for six of us and we requested a balcony seat. The Maitre d, sent us to tables that were already taken, were not staffed, and put us in a dark corner by busing station. I can't make a positive remark on the dining staff either, they were slow, not prepared, and forgot who ordered what and delivered wrong meals. I will go back to main dining, NOT my time dining knowing I will get the same great wait staff, dining table and excellent service I've become accustomed to in my previous years of cruising.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I liked the redesign of the spa treatment area, a juice/ smoothie area with a cappuccino machine was a hit, the sports gym area is larger and spacious. I did notice lots of lounge chairs for guests on cruising days on the outside decks, what appeared different was the ROPES that secured the chairs to the rails so you cannot move chairs for additional space or turn for premium sun location. I did noticed some guests untied ropes and moved chairs to their liking...some even put in narrow walking isles, which was not the best location.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Rooms are average, yes all you do is sleep and change in them, but I will try a outside balcony for a change of scenery.

Ship tip

Do your homework. Lots to do on ship and islands. Will be going on symphony next year and have already started my itinerary and what shows and excursions we would like to do.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

2 out of 5
Not much to do in this port...located in a industrial area that is secure on all borders.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
RCCL private island, couldn't tour the island, you are restricted to a portion of island and cant go outside of the perimeter. Lunch was provided on the island and lots of shopping, we went to the beach, and watched the kids zip line, which looked like lots of fun.

Falmouth, Jamaica

4 out of 5
Lots of port shopping, we went outside the port area and shopped a little, was very little to do outside port so we took a taxi to Montego Bay to shop there...after 20 minute drive we shopped very little, saw the timeshares on our tour and some golf courses. Rained quite often here, so bring your umbrella. Wasn't real impressed with our visit to Jamaica. This island would not be my first choice.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
I noticed six cruise ships in port the day we were there. I didn't noticed overcrowding though. Lots of shopping in town which took 5 minute taxi ride. I was surprised of the negotiations and prices of quality goods. We visited Sr. Frogs for lunch which was good but loud music took alot to get used to, I like music but hard to hold a conversation. We would recommend getting off the ship and looking at the shops outside the port or taking a taxi ride north 5 miles where there is lots more shopping and restaurants.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Took advantage of quick disembarkation and it was easy and fast. I took uber to the airport which fast and efficient.I couldn't see paying 35.00 to a taxi, when uber is 6.00 and a tip.
