Overall a great cruise and beautiful ship!! Staff could be more attentive. Don't charge for popcorn and add movies under the stars. Also add a little more flavor to the food.
Warn people about the aggressive behavior of the locals trying to sell stuff and how to avoid it.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation experience was very painless. It moved quickly and efficiently. No long wait. Very smooth!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining room food was o.k. It was not bad but not great! I thought the Windjammer buffet had really good food and a lot of choices. The Mexican restaurant Sabor was o.k. Johnny Rockets was very good. $6.95 cover charge but that was for anything on the menu (except ice cream). The Robot bar was great fun if you have the drink package otherwise expensive. Charging for popcorn was crazy. $2.50 That is one thing that the Princess Cruiseline gives out for free.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
So many things to do on board!!! Mini golfing, Super exciting water slides and big crazy slides. Basketball court, pools, Ice skating... Rock climbing walls! All great. Never get bored.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Entertainment was the best. The Fine Line and Big Daddy show was fantastic!! They were at the Aqua theater and there was high diving and tightrope walking and many exciting things happening. The floor disappears and all the sudden people are in the water or coming up out of the water sitting in chairs. It was remarkable. The comedy show was great as was 1887 an ice skating show with fantastic special effects. Grease and Columbus were also very good. But you do need to make reservations for these shows so be sure to do that before you leave. Book them all, they are well worth it!!
Children's Programs
I did not have any children with me. But I did check out the kid area which looked like it had everything for the kids. They have plenty to keep them busy!
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Here is where I struggle. The staff was not very helpful or friendly. We normally cruise Princess where the Staff is around more and much friendlier. None of the waiters really went above and beyond. When first arriving there was no one around to tell you where to go or what to do where there always is on the Princess ships. The sail away party was nothing exciting where Princess always has a great time when departing. The Bartenders were not friendly at all with the exception of Vintages. The room steward was never around but he did keep the room tidy.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was beautiful and very clean! But the soap dispener in our bathroom and others was broken so they brought trial sizes of shampoo conditioner and shower gel.
Bathroom was very spacious and the room was very spacious. (Balcony)
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The room was large and the bathroom spacious. The bed was pretty uncomfortable though. Hard
Ship tip
Book your room near the elevator if possible. The 6th floor is great as you do not feel the waves as much being nearer the water. Plus you are right near the Boardwalk and the Aqua theater and Johnny Rockets.
We had dinner at Millers Ale house which had really good food. The hotel we stayed out before boarding Homewood Suites was very nice and they offer shuttle service to restaurants and to the ship.
