Review summary

My wife is a travel agent so we've been on a lot of cruises and destination vacations, all-inclusives, etc..... This has seriously been the WORST VACATION OF MY ADULT LIFE!!!!! There were children everywhere, in every space of the ship day and night. There were no bars designated as adult only. Good example: Went to watch karaoke in a bar at night, half of the seats IN THE BAR were filled with CHILDREN, while dozens of adults had to stand. Disgusting waste of my time, money and I was not able to de-stress while on vacation. In fact, here I sit at work, even more stressed than when I left for vacation. Now I have to wait 6 months before I can go on a relaxing vacation. It won't be with Royal Caribbean I assure you.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
No issues, standard.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Dining room experience was not good at all, our meals took 2 to 2-1/2 hours because our waitresses would disappear for 30 to 45 minutes at a time. The buffets were much better food and it was way quicker to eat and get out. Couldn't get a drink in a bar without a bunch of screaming crying brats annoying you, because there are no Adults only bars on that ship.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Too many children everywhere to access these areas. Royal Caribbean made no effort to make the cruise enjoyable for adults with no children. This cruise is a daycare, all day and night, everywhere on the ship.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Shows and entertainment were ok. Their headliner comedian would have been funny but he is a flaming libtard, bashing on my President and praising Canadia's Trudeau........ Also he is proud to have been born the same day as Jane Fonda........... So basically he sucked.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Best room attendant we have ever had, service otherwise was decent as well. Dining really ruined our evenings with horrible service until we switched to the buffet.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Nice ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We had the fake balcony set up, it was pretty good, room was larger than we have had in the past.

Ship tip

If you don't want to be in a daycare all day and night, go cruise somewhere else. So many children in every nook and cranny of the ship and every bar at every hour day and night. This was far and away the worst vacation of my adult lifetime. I will not be returning to Royal Caribbean after this trip.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

3 out of 5
Not a great place to hang out....

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

3 out of 5

San Juan, Puerto Rico

2 out of 5
Boring port, unless you go to the Bacardi Factory or the Fort ruins.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5
Decent place, although parts of it are starting to look run down a bit.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
No issues, standard debarkation.

Sounds like someone needs a nap and a less stressful job. :)

A diamond class passenger should know what ship to sail and when if he wants to avoid children especially if.........his wife is a TA! 🙄

so I'm not understanding this post Royal Caribbean is the only cruise line that has children on the ship. I've been on dozen of cruises mostly Royal Caribbean never experienced any issues with children outnumbering adults LOL

Msbyrd0915, Not for this guy. This past March we sailed with the Spring Breaker crowd. The Quest was the best ever. These kids are fun, bold, they didn,t hold back. It was hilarious.

Spring breakers can be fun

Also, sadly enough, Royal is not looking for more of an older crowd for cruising. They are anxious to get the young families hooked. Then more young families will cruise $$$$$

Yep clearly don't cruise when kids are out of school, and you are going again during spring break. That's poor planning on your part.

I too agree that children shouldn't be in the bars. They need to do a better job of handling that. I think they atleast should set a cut off time where they are not allowed in with or without a parent. I do however feel that you absolutely have to take in consideration of the time of the year that you are cruising as there will be more children at certain times (Spring break, summer months). You have to know that going into it. Also, the ship matters too..the more activities and attractions for kids, the more there will be kids. A good lot of things on the Harmony are geared towards kids and families. With a capacity of over 6000, there are going to be lots of children. Perhaps another ship/line that would better suit your needs, one where they might be less children.

This is why I don,t use a TA. She should know better. You went during the end of summer vacation. Your next vacation is in 6 months...Spring Break??? On the other hand, I totally agree that the children should not be running around at night, especially in the bar.

You are blaming the cruise line because there were children on the ship??? So did your travel agent wife arrange the cruise? Pick a cruise line more geared to adults, such as Holland, Celebrity, Cunard, Viking, to name a few.
